george wakes up to the sound of birds chirping outside his window, which he found quite annoying. he hated where his room was, it was at the back of the castle, where when he looks out his window, all he sees is forest for miles. to add onto the annoying mess already, there's several bird nests. but thank god, when he turns 18, he's able to move into a new room instead of staying in this shitty one.

why can't he just move into a different room now? you may ask, it's tradition. your parents pick a room for you when you're born and you stay in that room until you turn 18 and you have the privilege to choose a different room. pretty stupid, i know.

he walks downstairs to his parents and younger sister watching the news on their flat screen television, "morning mum!" he says, walking down the steps into the living room.

"oh! good morning georgie!" his mother always calls him georgie even though he hates it but he doesn't mind.

"hey dickhead." his younger sister said to him but she's not allowed to cuss so of course, our mom got onto her.

"minx! no cussing in here, let alone anywhere! you're only 10, you're too young to cuss." mum said while minx and george were laughing so hard that their stomachs started hurting.

"ok, mother dearest. anyways, good morning george. i'm going upstairs to call emily!" minx started saying while walking up the stairs into her room, which was only two rooms down from george's. but not so surprisingly, she was always loud enough to where george could hear everything. single. thing. she. says.

"what's going on in the world today, mum?" george said while reading the closed captions on the television.

"just in, we have heard 4 people have been murdered in the past two hours. we haven't heard much about the murderer but we do know that he wears a smiley face mask, most likely to cover up his identity. we've called him 'the dream'. if you see this man, please report it to the police immediately."

"oh wow. georgie please go tell your sister that she will not be going out today. same goes to you too georgie." george cringed at the name his mum calls him, but he nodded in response.

"ok ill go tell her. mum? do you think they'll ever catch 'the dream' or whatever his name is?" george started walking away slowly so he can hear his mum answer him.

"i'm not sure. let's just hope they do. they may not at this rate but we'll stay inside until he does. we can order someone to go out and buy our food so we don't risk getting killed by 'the dream'."

"god, i sure hope they catch him. it's really dangerous to be outside at this time with him around killing people every hour." george said as he started walking away and to his room.

——time skip——

it was 8:46 pm when george decided to look out the window, but not his window in his room of course. so he got up out of bed and walked out into the halls and into the dining room. there was a huge window that faced the city they lived in. he watched the small cars drive by and people walking through the city, going into store after store.

what if i maybe go outside and just have a walk around? i think it's ok, i mean i haven't seen the dream. the dream. that's a stupid name, i'll just call him dream instead.

so george stood up and quietly walked into the corridors that lead into the ballroom. once he was in the ballroom, there were two guards in there. eret and wilbur.

shit. how the hell am i supposed to get past them? the two best guards right here. in this room.

george slowly walked along the sides of the ballroom until he heard a voice call his name. shit shit shit.
