It had been several days since wall Maria fell. Neither Clary nor Lou were able to locate their families, they were most likely dead.
The refugee camps had diminished into smaller numbers ever since the military sent out hundreds of adult refugees back in an attempt to reclaim wall Maria, barely any made it back.
Akira had not spoken a single word in days, her Amber eyes seemed dull and empty. Clary had been trying to stay cheerful, but even her lightheartedness was wearing thin.
"What are we supposed to do now? We're alone, we don't have any family or a home..." Lou said halfheartedly taking a bite of her bread. "We could always, work in the fields, it doesn't pay much, but it's better than nothing." Added Clary.
Suddenly Akira shot up "The fields..... Is that really how you want to spend the rest of your life?!" Akira hissed " Those titans, took away our homes, our families! Are you just gonna sit around and wait to get eaten!? They may have taken away everything we held dear, but they can never break our spirits!" Akira's eyes burned with a newfound passion. "Well, what do you suggest we do?" Asked Lou.
"We'll join the Survey corps, that way we can give those titans a piece of our minds!"
Lou got up and placed a hand on her shoulder "That's the Akira I know, I'm with you all the way."
"Me too! So don't think about leaving me behind!" Clary added
"Alright then... we have three years."
