slowly the dark fades away
the moon sleeps thought the day
his voice might say
"good morning"
her eyes flutter open
with a warm welcome kiss
the rustle of soft sheets
like a breezy Autumn day
but this will all go away
a car in a leaf pile catches on fire
a matchbox thrown away
all torn to bits
two people one survivor
nitrious oxide thought a tube
is this not bliss
the moon awakens now
a memory is gone
a girl in a bed a man in her head
are the only things left
the rest are dead
a machine whirs to rest she awakens to a nest
she silently slips out of bed
and peeks her head
into the hallway
and it seems to want to say
"good morning"
