Narrator: Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. His name was Jake Hyoudou. Although he had everything his heart desired, Jake was kindhearted to his staff of the household, but was sad and depressed because of his no-good brother, Issei Hyoudou, left him to his death. But then, one winter’s night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold.

Repulsed by her haggard appearance, Jake kindly took the gift and kind allowed the old beggar woman inside. The old beggar woman told Jake that he'd never to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when Jake told the old beggar woman about Issei Hyoudou's betrayal to him, the old woman’s ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress.

The enchantress told Jake that she was sorry about Issei Hyoudou's betrayal to Jake. So, using her magic, the enchantress transformed him into a powerful Metahuman, and placed a powerful spell on the castle, and all who lived there. And so, Jake concealed himself inside his castle, with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.
