alex opened his eyes and saw his dark room surrounding him. a stillness filled the air. alex closed his eyes and rolled onto his stomach, stuffing his face into his cool pillow.

he slowly sat up when he realized it was a real noise and not part of a dreamy hallucination. the light tap resonated throughout the room again and alex turned to the source, his window. his feet shivered against his freezing floor as he made his way to open the pane. two stories down stood zach dempsey, with a handful of pebbles and a smirk on his face. alex opened his window, signaling zach to carelessly climb a nearby tree and jump through.

alex caught him after quietly scolding him for being an idiot. their eyes met, and zach tripped at the last second. of course, alex caught him and they stood in each other's arms.

zach took no time to smother alex's small body with his own, hiding his face inbetween alex's shoulder and neck. "you're so cold." dempsey entangled his arms around alex and they swayed as they embraced each other.

alex pulled the two of them back onto the bed, pulling the soft comforter over his head on zach's chest. dempsey poked at the smaller of the two until he poked his head back out of the blanket.

"zach?" "yeah?" "whatre you even doing up?"

dempsey shifted in his spot before he continued, "i was bored and i couldn't sleep and i just wanted this." he pulled alex up so they were face to face. zach kissed his cheek and cuddled more into standall.

alex was just about to let zach lull them both to sleep, but couldnt help and be a caring boyfriend. "zach, it's four am. why were you even up?" zach blushed as alex sat up and straddled his lap. he began to relax when their conjoined hands rested on alex's thighs.

"i love it when you get all worried boyfriend mode," zach sat up to kiss his nose, "but actually, my practice ran late like i got home around 1 am but i was up thinking about..."

alex noticed the blush creep onto his boyfriend's face as he turned away. "thinking about what?" zach just pulled alex closer softly as to calm himself.

"i need a sec." zach started slow, deep breaths and rubbing his hands up and down alex's back. alex was taken aback on how... nervous zach seemed. "take your time, kay?" alex was now reciprocating the soft massages that he was being given by zach. they stayed like this for a few moments before the taller of the two pulled away and spoke, "i was up because i had all these... thoughts about things... about us."

"i dont wanna lose you." alex was taken aback by the sudden confession. the only was he knew how to respond was by meeting his lips to zach to calm his nerves. "z, you're stuck with me. why would you think youd lose me?"

zach sighed. he felt the nerves float away relaxed into alex's grip even more. "im not sure, i just had a lot of bad thoughts about you getting... bored or finding someone better." he was met with another kiss to cut off his train of thought.

"well, thats not happening anytime soon." alex chuckled as zach just stared up at in adoration. the blonde pulled him back into a tight embrace. he could feel zach smile as they fell back into the bed. their breaths syncing in tempo as they both fell into sleep.
