Yoongi had always hated change. Despite having changes all through his life and should be used to it, he still hated it. It always seemed like everything was out of his control, everything was too unpredictable, and Yoongi hated that more than anything. He hated not being in control, to be honest it was one of his biggest fears.

Which is why there were a mixture of emotions when he was told that he was moving and had to start his third year of high school somewhere new. He was obviously upset that he would be leaving all his friends and almost everything he knew behind. He was also terrified of the changes that were about to happen.

Granted, everything wasn't terrible. Their new house was nice and when Yoongi and his adoptive parents took a tour of the school, the place seemed okay, despite being new and unknown.

Yoongi sighed as he looked at his first day outfit, running his had over the aquamarine gem that protruded from his neck. He remembered the stories his grandmother would tell him about gem mates and how when gem mates met each other their gem would glow. Whenever she told those stories Yoongi always seemed more and more excited to finally meet his gem mate and be with them forever. He would also listen to how his real parents met each other and figured out they were gem mates, asking them to tell the story over and over again.

But then puberty happened and Yoongi started to grow insecure, depressed and anxious. Now he dreaded the day of meeting his gem mate. He felt bad for them, he bad because he knew what kind of person they would end up with.

" Yoongi, hurry up or your going to miss the bus!" Yoongi jumped at the sound of his mother's voice, quickly grabbing everything he needed before running downstairs. He quickly bid his mother goodbye before boarding the bus.

The bus wasn't very crowded, which Yoongi appreciated. He sat down in a seat in the back, looking through the window as the trees, cars, and houses passed by. Then, suddenly a voice caught his attention.

" Excuse me, but is this seat taken?" The boys asked, pointing to the empty space beside Yoongi. He turned around, shaking his head. The boy let out a sigh of relief before sitting down.

" Oh, my name is Namjoon, by the way!" The boy said, showing off his dimpled smile.

" Yoongi." Namjoon nodded as Yoongi introduced himself.

" Hey, I just realized that I've never seen you on this bus before. Are you new or something?" Namjoon asked as Yoongi nodded. Even though Namjoon did seem nice, Yoongi didn't feel quite comfortable talking yet.

" I didn't want to say it at first because I didn't want to seem weird, but your gem is really pretty. Mine could never compare." Namjoon said before showing Yoongi his sapphire gem on the nape of his neck.

" T-Thank you. Yours is pretty too." Yoongi responded, feeling bad that Namjoon didn't seem that confident about his gem. Namjoon smiled again and Yoongi couldn't help, but blush.

" Hey, Yoongi! Wait up!" Yoongi jumped at the sound of his name being yelled across the hallway. Not too long after, Namjoon appeared by his side, out of breath. Yoongi couldn't help chuckle at how seemingly out of shape his new friend was.

" Hey, Hey, don't laugh at me!" Namjoon said before glaring at Yoongi, obviously in a friendly fashion.

" Anyway, I was wondering if you would want to sit with me and my friends at lunch? I told them about you and now they're dying to meet you." Namjoon explained. Yoongi grew slightly pale at the thought of meeting new people. He was just now getting comfortable with Namjoon, so he knew he wasn't ready to meet anyone new.

" Please! They really want to meet you and I know they will like you like I do." Namjoon pleaded, knowing that Yoongi was about to decline.

" Fine." Yoongi sighed, before nearly being crushed to death by Namjoon's hug, thanking Yoongi a million times for agreeing to meet his friends.

" Ah, you must be Yoongi! Namjoon has told us about you! I'm Seokjin, but you can call me Jin." Yoongi sat at the lunch table as Jin introduced himself, and Yoongi tried not to make Jin uncomfortable as he admired his Tanzanite gem on the inside of his wrist. He seemed nice.

Maybe this wouldn't be as bad as Yoongi thought.

" And I'm Jimin! Nice to meet, ya!" Jimin said as he smiled and his eyes turned into crescents. Yoongi couldn't help but smile back at Jimin. He just made Yoongi feel so at ease.

" Wait, where is Hoseok?" Namjoon asked, wondering where his friend was. Jin sighed in frustration.

" He's back in the dance studio practicing again. I swear he's gonna to kill himself if he doesn't take a break." Jimin huffed as he ate his food, but Yoongi couldn't help, but wonder who Hoseok was.

" So Yoongi, Namjoon told us your new?" Jin asked, wanting to know more about Namjoon's new friend.

" Yeah, I moved here during the summer from Daegu." Yoongi responded.

" Wow, really!? I've always wanted to visit there! I heard they had great views of the mountains!" Jimin said, eyes seemingly glistening. " Anyway, what was your life like? And your school?"

" It was pretty average, I guess. My school was nice. I had two great friends there, and I miss them...a lot." Yoongi tried not to get emotional as thought about his life back in Daegu. He still missed it so much. His friends. His family. Everything.

" Hey, it's okay to get emotional. I actually moved here all the way from Busan. I was an emotional wreck until I found my people." Jimin said before pointing at Jin and Namjoon. Yoongi smiled, it was obvious that Jimin cared deeply for his friends.

Students began emptying their trays as the bell rang. The four boys bid their goodbyes as they went to their next class, exchanging numbers and all. Yoongi had to admit, Namjoon's friends were nice. Jin seemed really nice and approachable, and Jimin seemed adorable and caring. However, Yoongi still wondered what Hoseok was like. Judging by what Jimin said, Hoseok was a hardworking person, putting his passion before everything, almost to a fault. The curiosity bugged Yoongi throughout the rest of the school day.

Who ever this Hoseok guy was, Yoongi hoped he was friendly.
