What does cheese feel like to the Ellas? It's an impossible feat to understand what something feels like to another person, but we've got to understand that Ellas aren't people. Ellas aren't people, their gases, liquids,,,, IDEAS.
So if an Ella is nothing more than an idea, then everything about her can only be an idea as well.
Now what are we talking about when we say cheese? Well, to an Ella, cheese is anything good tasting within a colour palette of cream to yellow. Cheese is edible. Cheese is an idea.
What does cheese feel like to the Ellas? Cheese feels like paper to a writer. Not having cheese in their hands is like air to a fish. Prince Phillip off his life support.
Cheese is completion, like the final step home after returning from space.
Cheese is like what water is to the fishes, without cheese, the Ellas flop around and die a long painful death.
When an Ella eats her last bite of her last bit of cheese, it feels like when your weak nail finally snaps, there's that feeling of finality but also grimness as there is now that empty naked feeling every time you look down at your hand.
The Ellas respect their cheese but they crave it, so their life stays the never ending cycle of trying to eat but also save.
