All of Kaitlin's friends and family had been truly devastated by the loss. Not everyone missed her, but they were all impacted.
Apparently, only two people had to die before the school did something. All students who had been extreme bullies had been expelled. The bullied we're glad of this change. The rule of terror had ended, and they could freely be themselves.
The town put up a counseling building downtown. Suicide awareness and seminars gathered there to help people and to show others how to live.
Unfortunately, death cannot be all good. If it was, it would be the latest trend. Kaitlin's family never fully recovered. Her aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents and everyone who had some blood connection to her wept. They felt the loss and the pain and the sorrow that can only be felt when someone chooses to leave by there own hand. Her father turned to alcohol to easy the pain. Her mother became addicted to work, sex, and drugs. Never stoping to say hello to each other. Eventually their marriage failed. The family slowly drifted apart.
As for Kaitlin's friends, she had many more than she thought she had. Most were deeply grieved by their loss. The ones who didn't grieve were grieved for. They were her closest friends and could bare to carry one. Suicide does tend to have a ripple effect.
Only a few of the ripples left behind by the dropping of the stone are good. Most are bad and have terrible consequences. You may not know why you are left on this earth with so much hope and despair filling your lungs as it seems to be the only air on this rock we call home. But I promise you, it is worth it. Kaitlin was to be married. She would have had a successful relationship after her first husband walked out on her. They would have had three children. The man to whom she was to marry sits alone now. Never finding the perfect one to live with.
Adam would have been the first husband of Kaitlin. Eventually he would have found a wife after Kaitlin, but he died before he could find out. Thus causing Kaitlin's death, which cause her friends death, which caused their close friends deaths, which caused the deaths of their family members.
Do the world a favor and stay alive. I know it's hard, but it can't be as hard as it would be for the ones you left behind.
