BLINDED BY LOVE

"Now, you can open your eyes. But relax yourself first and do it slowly."

"Yes, doctor."

The patient exhaled heavily and slowly opened both eyes but quickly closed them after feeling the strong sunlight hitting from the window. The curtains were quickly fixed by someone to make the patient feel comfortable.

"Now, open them again but slowly."

The patient nodded and opened both eyes again but this time, had a bright smiling after seeing a girl who fixed the curtains earlier. The girl quickly sat beside the patient and also smiled while wiping her tears. The doctor waved his hand in front of the patient's face.

"Can you count the fingers I'm showing?" He asked, showing a peace sign.

"Two." The patient said and giggled.

The doctor took few more tests, just to see if the patient could see clearly after the eye surgery. When he was satisfied enough, he smiled in proud and patted the patient's shoulder. He then looked at the girl beside the patient who was smiling ear to ear in happiness.

"Congratulations, Ms Im. Your friend can see the world again." The doctor said before turning to the patient.

"Ms Yoo, don't pressure yourself at first. Rest now." He said before leaving with the nurse.

"You're NaYeon, right?" The patient asked, poking the girl's cheek who was looking at her quietly, smiling. NaYeon opened her mouth in shock.

"Yah Yoo JeongYeon, you forgot my pretty face?" NaYeon asked in disbelief. JeongYeon chuckled and nodded, making NaYeon pout.

"I missed seeing you, NaYeon. You're still the same, your expressions, too." JeongYeon said, caressing her hair.

"I missed you, too. When you lost your eyes, I thought you'll never see my pretty face again but I'm really thankful to whoever donated their eyes to you. Now, you can see my pretty face for the rest of your life." NaYeon said, cupping her cheeks and leaned forward.

"Ew, I'll have to see this ugly face for the rest of my life?" JeongYeon made a disgust face, removing NaYeon's hands and that made NaYeon clench her teeth.

"I wanna make you blind again. Doctor..." JeongYeon covered NaYeon's mouth who shouted for the doctor.

"You speak too much. My ears hurt." JeongYeon complained and let go of her mouth. NaYeon scoffed and got up to leave but JeongYeon pulled her back by her hand, causing her to land in JeongYeon's lap.

"Where are you going?" JeongYeon asked, giggling. NaYeon looked away, ignoring her question.

JeongYeon sighed and wrapped her arms around NaYeon's waist then rested her head on her shoulder. NaYeon looked at her boringly but didn't push her away. They stayed in that position until a nurse entered inside the ward.

NaYeon quickly got up from JeongYeon's lap and stood aside. The nurse just checked on JeongYeon, especially her eyes and made her lay down on the bed. She dropped an eyedrop in JeongYeon's eyes and instructed her to rest before leaving the room.

"Are you still there?" JeongYeon asked NaYeon. She didn't say anything and walked toward the door.

"NaYeon...?"

"Don't open your eyes." NaYeon scolded as she locked the door and went back to JeongYeon.

"But where are you? Sit here." JeongYeon demanded.

"You're acting like you're blind again." NaYeon rolled her eyes and sat on the bed beside her. JeongYeon quickly searched for her hand and held it tightly.
