IN WHICH Niki never expected her new apartment to be haunted, of all things. Maybe that's why it had come at such a cheap price.

THERE'S JUST something strange about her new apartment. Little things. Like, how her books are never in the right places or why some of her clothes are sometimes lying on the floor. Why the light bulbs in her room and her computer screen always seem to flicker. It isn't much, but Niki begins to notice.

It was probably nothing too serious. It was an old apartment. It could be some problem with the wiring. Or maybe it was the stress of moving out of the comfort of her house, living completely alone for the first time in her life.

It was probably nothing, right?
