We all jumped up except for Angel who automatically started thinking.. As usual  "Angel get the hell up! We don't have time for your breakthroughs!" She shook her head and made a face of a mix between "I think I have an idea but this time it isn't full proof. There's a chance it could work and another chance that it could fail but it's worth a shot!" She grabbed our hands, held Asher and walked out into the hallway. But then it fell silent. There was no noise everywhere and that's when we saw one of the soldiers carrying a body. It was a kid's body too. So my sister dragged us back into the bedroom.

"We all saw that, Angel-" She forced a laugh. "Saw? Saw what? I didn't see anything." I understand she was trying to keep us safe from everything here but hiding what we already saw wasn't the best way to do it. Then she started crying which we never saw from her. But ti was real. It showed fear which was also something we didn't see.  "I'm sorry. I'm not doing a good job. I don't know what's gonna happen next. Even if we manage to leave, where are we going to go? And if we find out where we are to go, how are we gonna learn. What's going to happen when we ll leave for college and Asher's all alone? Wh-" We all cut her off except for Asher who looked like he was rethinking everything she just said. So I picked him up but he wanted Angel.  When she held him, everything was fine. It's like he was a good luck charm for her feelings. She was all smiley again and suggested we go to bed. And so we did like always, we listened to her.

Angel~

If I'm being honest, it felt good to cry but it didn't feel good- the feeling weak part. So that's when I suggested we go to bed. Maybe I can cry without them hearing me. I didn't want them to hear me nor see me. I didn't want them to think I was weak because I wanted them to see me as the strong person who protected them as always. That's how I want them to remember me...forever. If I ever go, I don't want them to remember me cry. Not once! I don't remember much. To be honest, I'm pretty sure I fell asleep after that.

But when I woke up, they were already awake. Even Axel was awake.  And he was always waking up late. That's probably because he stayed up so late even. Even though, it was odd he never got caught. I found it strange but didn't question anything. "Morning, guys. I guess." They all hugged me and then walked me out into the courtyard. Adrian was the first to speak. "Okay we need to talk!" I shook my head and got up to walk away but he grabbed my hand and pulled me down. "It's about an escape. Isaac told me about it." I looked shocked. Isaac came up with the plan I have been thinking of for weeks. So I listened as he spoke.

"He said that out back where we can't get to. You know the passageway? He said the bodies were carried out because they died form being weak. Now that I think of it, getting rid of people is definitely something they would do. But there's a canoe and two oars! He said he's gathered a bunch of supplies and last time I spoke to him, he said he'd gathered about a week and a half's worth of food. He's trying to gather up at least a month's worth. He said he'd gather tools necessary for survival too! He said that he'll sneak us out at six pm in the evening and that we should have about an hour to get to a camping ground. Then we should go to sleep and wake up at six am in the morning to get going again. Apparently the rive is about 2,000 miles long but he said that the journey would be worth it. There's something called the safe place. Basically we send help to the orphanage. That's all I remember him saying."

I looked over the plan of course to make sure it was safe but from what I've heard, it's all good. "Okay, so how long should it take for him to finish with food and supplies?" He looked at me and thought. "I'm pretty sure he said, it would take him about another month because he's been able to salvage more food lately."
