All the kids are trying
Trying to act like adults and navigate through the storm
Trying to get out of their own heads and push on
There is no work-life balance because we can't distinguish the difference
We write pages after pages to submit to our teachers just to be told to work harder but we do the bst we can
These are uncertain times is all we hear when we admit we struggle nobody's ever been through this before is a quote every adult passes down
Yes,we know we are the first
So its up to us;
To write the history books
To tell the tales
To tell future generations what we have overcome
The weight of the world is on our shoulders as we see panic in every direction
And yet when we try and make a difference we are ignored
After all, we are just kids
Having to remain strong as we conquer the impossible, find the sun through our storms
Nobody listens because we are just kids after all
Perhaps we are bein dramatic or overreacting
Or perhaps we are smarter than you dare to imagine with no way of getting our opinions heard
So we turn to anger, pain and sadness
When we display these emotions for the world to see all we receive is negative comments from people who can even fathom what is pulsing through our veins
We are the future, we have been catapulted into adulthood without the chance of getting there ourselves gradually
15 year olds taking their lives completely into their own hands with no instruction
Childhoods gone and forgotten as we are plagued with serious grown up issues and decisions to be made that we have no clue to solve
There's no escape, we can't even laugh with our friends without a computer screen
We are so much more than generation Z
But the world sees us as nothing more than kids. Just kids.
