Opening up has always been something I struggle with, especially since after my accident. You would think that having a near death experience would be the type of thing that would make me want to open up, but nope. I am perfectly content with sticking with my little group of people that I have come to know and love.

My parents only had one condition when sending me here, and that was I had to open up. Even just a little and I would get to stay. I'm a grown adult so it isn't like they have tons of control over what I do, but I felt like this was at least something I could do for them. So that's what I did, I opened up to Niall and Tammy and it was one of the best things I've ever done.

I tried to open with Jack, but that ended oh so terribly. Ever since then, I've kind of retreated back into my little shell. Having a small group of friends doesn't bother me. I enjoy having only a few people who truly know me. It's kind of like I'm a mystery to the rest of the world.

"June, wait up," a voice called out from behind me. I slowed my steps and turned around to greet Harry.

"Hi, Harry" I smiled. I was feeling more comfortable now that I've had my coffee, so I figured I could finally have a conversation with him.

"I was wondering if we could talk?" Harry had a friendly smile plastered on his face. It was a lovely sight and I had to force myself to look away. I averted my gaze down to my old, worn out Birkenstocks.

I definitely need a new pair.

"Of course, what did you want to talk about?"

"Our date actually." My footsteps faltered and I lifted my gaze to meet Harry's once more. His friendly smile had turned into a playful smirk. I took a deep breath before I answered.

"Okay," I drawled, "what about it?"

"Well, I was thinking that we should have it this week," he stated.

"This week?" I repeated, trying to keep my nerves hidden.

Harry nodded, "Yeah, how do you feel about Thursday?" I kept my smile on my face while on the inside I was having an internal battle.

My first impressions were that this 'date' was just a friendly dinner that we were having because I felt bad that he was the other driver involved in the accident, but now I wasn't so sure. Harry seemed like a nice guy and all but I wasn't planning on getting in a relationship anytime soon.

"Thursday... sure I guess that works. Where did you want to go?"

"Ahh, see now that is a surprise." I guess I made a face because Harry started chuckling. "I'm guessing from the look on your face you're not very fond of surprises."

"You could say that," I smiled sheepishly.

"Well I promise this is a good surprise so you have nothing to be worried about," he smiled. There was something about his smile that was so inviting; It made me feel safe and protected. I quickly looked away, hating that I was thinking like that. The last thing I wanted was to catch feelings for this man, I liked my life how it was and I also had no desire to get my heartbroken.

"How am I going to know when to go or where we're going?" I questioned.

"Easy, give me your phone." I raised my eyebrow, giving him a skeptical look.

"Don't you trust me," he smiled. I rolled my eyes, but handed him my phone anyway. For some reason, I did trust him and that scared me. Harry did a couple of things on my phone for a couple of seconds, then handed it back to me.

"Now you don't have to worry about anything," he said, smile still intact.

Does he ever stop smiling?
