The wind seemed to be at a complete stop, barely ever moving the treetops this newleaf season. The creamy brown tabby wished he was like the wind today; calm and steady without a worry in the world.

Wistful thinking, just like usual. Mistle'paw sighed and sat down, staring down for a moment before craning his neck to where he was staring straight into the sky, quietly examining the stars that littered the sky.

He wondered if his grandfather and father were watching him right now, did they think he was a family failure? We're they frowning down at him right now? He inhaled a painful and shaky breath, great starclan how would he deal with this?

He exhaled shakily before thinking back to the other days events. Did he seriously tell his best friend, Hawk'paw, a medicine cat apprentice that he was in love with him? He shook his head and grumbled to himself, what had he been thinking? He had messed with a perfectly good friendship. And for what reason?

He knew deep down that Hawk'paw didn't like him back; at least in the way he had hoped, he had to get on with life, try to repair the friendship in anyway possible. He inhaled and exhaled once again, breath still shaky and ragged, he started feeling slightly nauseous.

The young tom lied on his back, paws held tightly to his fluffy chest as he looked towards the stars, questioning if his family was proud of him or not. His breathing was becoming less ragged and sounding normal once again. Hopefully he could move on easily.

The first thing he was going to do was apologize to Hawk'paw for throwing his emotions on him, he was probably traumatized or something, it's not everyday your best friend says they love you, at least not in a platonic way.

Mistle'paw didn't know why stargazing made him more tranquil and peaceful than before doing it, it had been that way since he was a kit. Back when things weren't as complicated as they were now. Back when his friendship with Hawk was just flourishing and developing, the time he didn't have a crush on the younger apprentice.

He breathed the clear air and sighed, he wished he was a star, they were so peaceful and calm looking, unlike how he felt inside. His violet hues searched the sky for any sign that things might get better but, of course there was never a sign to be seen nor was there one this time either.

The fluffy tom shook his head and closed his hues for a moment. He wished that he could share a stargazing moment with his friend, get back to loving them, but as a friend this time. A platonic love, clearly the other tom wasn't ready for a relationship. Plus it's not like he could have one, he was a medicine cat, he could only ever have a friend.

Mistle'paw ended up drifting off to wistful thoughts of Hawk'paw and calm breathing along with the stargazing. He had a feeling that things would get better between him and Hawk'paw.

He wasn't trusting himself completely though. Not yet at least.
