The cold wind burned against my already frozen face but I didn't care. It had  been seemingly decades since I'd felt it against my skin. I was in the passenger seat of a half broken down Volkswagen Beetle, next to my kidnapper, which was also my dad, but I couldn't be happier. Okay... I think I could but I have to admit I was pretty excited. Isabelle sat in the back humming to the country station that was playing through the muffled speakers. My seat was uncomfortable but it was heaven compared to the stuffy house. I smiled. How could I have been this happy in a situation like this? It all started at the doctor's office...

"Well it looks like it's too early to tell if it's a boy or girl but the baby looks healthy, Which is always a good sign."

A smile spread across my face and suddenly, I was no longer nervous. I was so happy that I was finally at the doctor and finally seeing this baby.

"Come back in two weeks and we'll check up again!"

I nodded then followed him down the hallway and back out into the waiting room.

"Well they both look great," he told Colton. I smiled.

"Awesome," replied Colton.

"She's having a baby," Informed Isabelle.

"Yup," He smiled and patted her on the head.

"Well we have to get going, we are going to a few places."

"Alright, I'll see you guys in two weeks." And with that we were gone.

After a while we were in front of a little restaurant. I didn't really pay attention to the name, but I didn't really care either. I'm pretty sure it was a fifties style diner just from the sign and the red and white checkered floors.

"Hello sweeties," our waitress piped in a southern accent.

"Hi," said Colton, "Are you ready to order or do you need a few?"

"I think we need a few. Right Issy?"

She nodded shyly. After we ordered we ate in silence then got back in the car.

"So where are we going next?" I asked Colton.

"Home. We have training to do. And Issy is going to sit inside and keep busy. I've bought her some coloring book and stuff."

"Yay!" she squeaked from the back seat.

And that is how I finally became happy again.
