Jang was a pretty average pooch. He had a lot going for him. He was a good dog. Always owned his mistakes and respected others. Took his training well and never wanted to be re homed. Getting used to now being in a kennel was pretty new.

Jang sighed as the slightly cramped kennel brought its own boredom. He already played by himself , ate for himself and did everything he normally did. He felt like something was missing. It had already been 5 days since his owner left him inside. She said she was gonna come back. Jang never whimpered or begged. Not anymore at least. Maybe just once. He missed getting any affection. Sighing he rocked the cage back and forth whimpering and barking. After going at it for a few more minutes he heard footsteps. Getting up wagging his tail he was so happy his owner was finally coming down to greet him. She smiled softly as she let him out of his cage and embraced him. Almost crying he nuzzled into her missing her scent. Her hair and touch felt so at home. Much more than the cage did anyway.

She carried him upstairs holding him close whispering to him that she had been going through a lot and maybe a hint of sorrow in her tone. He perked up his head as he was quick to forgive. He didnt believe his owner would forget about him again anyway. She led him to the front door and let him finally use the bathroom. Ah the pleasure. Jang could relieve himself in peace and trodded around very pleased. Beaming from ear to ear he hopped back into the house to see his owner. She looked sad again. Tilting his head watching her he wanted to help. There was not much he could do anyway. Not understanding what made her usual smile such a firm frown. She seemed so keen stroking her housecat.

Ahh the tabby Jang thought. They didnt have the same relationship he had with his owner though. The cat could come and go. It always whispered into her ears. His owner nodded as she set her cat back down. Jang frowned realizing he had been downstairs while the cat was free to roam. Tabby was by her side. Jang bristled back looking for a way to approach his owner. Tabby smirked softly seeing the pooch go from a favorite to a forgotten pet.

Jang wanted to put his paw down feeling like he was forgotten but feared being scolded. After all a good dog gets special treats. Tabby was here before. Tabby would be here after. The cat never got or wanted the same connection he had. Jang sighed as he tried to sit by his owners side.

Tabby hissed at Jang as it looked on Jang from the table. "Stupid mutt" it growled "you belong under the table not by her side. After all you are subject to the kennel while I may roam free". Tabby scoffed. Jang looked at it silently and sighed. "Tabby I deserve better words than mutt. After all it was you who proposed the kennel in the first place". Tabby crawled over to his owners lap looking down at Jang and whispered into his ear as he did to his owner. " A bad dog gets punished while I cannot misbehave".

Jang bit his lip looking up at his owner. Her hair covered her face. Tilting his head as she picked him up and brought him back downstairs and placed him gently into the kennel. She turned off the lights and locked him in again. Jang could hear the Tabby's whispers haunt his ears.

Jang slept peacefully for 5 or so days being a good dog waiting for his owner to come and get him, maybe talk to him or anything. But alas the lights were still off. Hungry , sad and pissed off at this being a second time. He barked , chewed on the bars and thrashed around. He had to use the bathroom eat and stretch. His back ached his stomach felt sick. Looking up as the light was turned on suddenly he squinted. Its been several days since he saw light. Wagging his tail he looked up at his owner she was not smiling.

His brow furrowed as she began to scold him saying he was misbehaving. He held in his growl annoyed at her tone. She pointed her finger at him telling him things were even harder for her. He was supposed to be a good dog and he let her down.

Jang felt bad for a few moments holding his head down untill he realized she had Tabby to comfort her and guests had come and go. He heard voices upstairs. He let out a growl and then a bark putting his paw down. He picked himself up. If his owner cared she would of said something.. anything to him. Instead she left him there. In the dark. Tabby was not in the dark.

Jang sighed to himself feeling he deserved better. Pushing himself up each step felt like a trial. He was leaving his owner. It didnt bring him joy but a depressing peace. He was a good dog. He knew that. Not his owner or the tabby could take that from him. He felt starved and un cared for. He was not a priorty. Only when it was convenient. He wanted more. His owner watched him leave. She did not argue or apologise. She simply pet the tabby as he left. Tabby smirked as the mutt left.
