Part 2 - The Discovery

☼ Flutter ☼

I stared up at the strong figure of Princess Celestia standing before me. "P-princess?!" I bowed nevertheless, but I was still confused about why she was here. Celestia suppressed a laugh.

"Fluttershy, I am here to reveal to you some questions that went unanswered in the past," she explained. I still looked puzzled and she could tell, so she continued to explain. "Fluttershy, look."

The princess handed me a dusty scrapbook. It was pastel yellow, with some pink stripes on it. Thoughts raced through my head as I hesitantly opened the book, gazing at the first page.

And I immediately gasped. There, right in front of me, was a picture. A picture of a newborn filly, pastel yellow, light pink mane, with a mare and a stallion standing nearby.

Tears welled in my eyes as I flipped to the next page. Same filly, same mare, same stallion, but this time they were at the park, all going down the slide together. Their faces, oh their faces, unexplainable. So joyful, so cheerful, so... happy.

After a while I had flipped through all the pages in the book. The last page in the book was the best. Same filly, blowing out birthday candles. The stallion was helping her, and the mare was taking the picture. But that wasn't the most important part. On the bottom, in sticker letters:

Happy 1st Birthday, Fluttershy!

Celestia looked at me expectantly, wanting to see my reaction.

All I could do was smile.
