Summary:

"So, what are your opinions on such matters, Midoriya? Society has drastically changed, yet stood still for so long - What are your thoughts on this change and its outcomes?"

"Well... I, uh... I think... The human species as a whole is declining in intelligence and moral..."

An almost startled sounding hum came from the animal across from him.

"Oh my, that is quite the idea! Please, do explain!"

“ - Now, when looking over the data depicting the rise and recess of quirks and their development from when they first appeared a bit over two centuries ago to now, we can clearly see the lack of technological advancements, as well as a major decline in racial discrimination. Though, these things didn’t just disappear throughout time, they just slowly shifted into different categories that weren’t necessarily possible until now, trying to fit themselves into the so-called ‘new normal’ of society. These categories would be the development of quirks and the ‘whats, hows, and whys’ that come with learning and advancing them, as well as quirk discrimination as a whole. Now, because of such drastic and sudden changes, new laws were made and spread throughout society - one of these laws would be called, ‘Law on the Heroics Way,’ or LHW. This law generally states that society would start building and molding their nations to fit around the ideology of Heroes and their leadership more than just regular government officials as they had before. All government powers and legalities would now be in the control of who we trust as ‘Heroes’. The LHW also explained that most laws would change to fit the recorded activity of villains and criminals throughout the years, making sure that if the crime rates were to spike, we’d have a go-to way to handle the situation without much trouble. While these sound like good plans at first glance, realistically such ideas were actually formed hastily and without true order near the end of the Quirk War era in America, when the nations officials had made the decision that something needed to be done with such highly trained and powerful people - Not wanting a ‘Laws of the Jungle’ system to form over the people without their immediate control. Thus, the creation of the society as we know today, where quirks dictate almost everything we can and can not do. This then leads us to the discrimination we find in every era, though ours is more specifically targeted as ‘Quirk Discrimination’. As most individuals seem to know, quirk discrimination is an umbrella term used to cover all aspects that could come from having, or not having, a quirk; such as ‘villainous’ quirks, ‘scary and strange’ mutation quirks, ‘weak’ quirks, or just having no quirk to begin with - the term Quirk Discrimination covers is all. Though it’s not the only type to rule as heavily either. Because of the heroics industry favouring public expression, gender ‘trends’ tend to be regarded immensely as well…”

This was only their first class and Nedzu was already terrifyingly amazing , Izuku thought, scratching out notes mindlessly into one of the new notebooks he’d bought specifically for Nedzu’s classes. The intelligent way he thinks and explains things directly to the point is very efficient and easy to understand. He’s lectured for almost 30 minutes straight, non-stop, yet I’ve been able to keep track of everything he’s said and haven’t grown bored…  Izuku continued to think on autopilot, his hand still taking down notes diligently, making sure to quote exact words, or underline phrases he thinks will become impactful in the near future with their lessons.
