Lily Evans woke up that day feeling a sudden feeling of change. She couldn't explain it but it was there. She shook those thoughts away as she stood up and stretched.

She looked at the clock on her phone and read 7:55. Lily walked quietly through the door that lead to her son's bedroom. The tiny one year old was asleep softly in his crib. He had messy black hair and dark green eyes. She smiled. He was beautiful. To bad his father wasn't around to see him, Lily thought bitterly. His father had accused her of cheating on him, because the baby looked nothing like him. Lily didn't know why her baby boy looked like this, but he was her miracle baby and she wouldn't trade him for the world.

She padded silently over to his crib and picked him up. He stirred and opened his green eyes wide. Harry yawned in his mother's arms. "Hey honey, Are you hungry?" Lily cooed softly. Harry nodded, a little smile on his face. Lily loved that smile. She saw often, as Harry was a very happy child. She saw it when he played with Nevile, her best friend's son. She saw it when he saw the costomers in their small bakery. And she saw it when he looked at her, his features filled with child-like wonder and happiness.

She smiled back and got her son dressed. She also got herself dressed in a beige jumper and faded jeans. Lily gently held her son's hand, as she was trying to teach him how to walk. "C'mon Harry I've got to open the shop." Lily said, urging her son along. In the end she just swooped him up into her arms as Harry giggled. Lily pressed a kiss to his forehead as they walked down the stairs.

Lily flipped the open sign over and wiped down the counter. She was pulling on her apron when the bell on the door rang. She looked up and smiled, expecting to see a costomer but instead seeing Alice and Nevile. Alice set Nevile down, who immediately stumbled over to Harry and the two little boys began playing with Harry's toys.

"Hey Ali! Coming to take Harry?" Lily asked as she hugged her friend. "Yes Frank's going to watch the boys while I'm at work." Alice said cheerfully. Lily felt a small pang of jealousy that Alice was not a single parent. She waved it off, she was just being silly. "Ok well lemme grab his bag and say bye." Lily said to Alice, as she walked upstairs to Harry's room.

His room had a light sky blue with stags on the walls. She grabbed a diaper bag from the corner and jogged back down the stairs.

"C'mon Harry time to go to Nevile's house. Put your toys in your bag." Lily said to her son. "Ma ma pa toys." Harry said sadly. "You can play with your toys at Neviles." Lily said, as the two boys began to pack their toys in the bag.

Alice put the boys in a double stroller and waved Lily goodbye. She began to work on cakes and cupcakes for that day that were ordered.

People were in and out of the shop all day until 4:00 when everything went surprisingly quiet. The bell rang from the door and Lily turned around.

"Hi welcome to Evans Bakery, What can I get you?" Lily said automatically. And then she saw him. He was 6'2 and he had jet black hair. He had hazel eyes and a jaw that could cut diamonds. He was cute. Hot.

"Um hi can I get 4 red velvet cupcakes please?" The man asked politely. " Yeah of course." Lily said ringing up the total on the cash register. "15 pounds please?" Lily said. He pushed over the money. "I was going to be an asshole to my mates and only order one but I've decided to take the high road." The guy said chuckling and shaking his head.

"What made you change your mind?" Lily asked curiously. " A little boy I saw on the way in here. He gave me a little smile that made me feel like maybe everything would be alright." He explained. "Just out of curiosity, What did the boy look like?" Lily asked. "He had black hair and green eyes." The guy said fondly. The door rang again and there was her son. "I'm James, by the way." James said. "I'm Lily." She said smiling. "That's the boy I saw!" James said pointing to Harry. "That's my son." Lily said.
