Balleza - beauty
La Paz - peace
The night in the city of Cielo was calm and peaceful, untouched by the warfare that usually happens in a country. It was damp and drizzly. A storm was coming for the quiet night in Cielo as the people in the streets talked merrily, ignoring the lightning that struck their way.
A girl in a white coat ran in the streets like a rabbit chased by a wolf, panting as she crossed Tranquilo street to Balleza street. Citizens glanced at the passerby as if the girl was a madwoman.
Their night was disturbed by the girl's commotion as she ran like her life was on the line. The girl ran in the pleasant night with a piece of technology in her hand as it dinged and buzzed every second of her pace.
She was getting tired from the hunt as her ankles pained and her breathing ran erratically. She was chased by nothing behind her but something in the darkness, waiting and tracking her as she hit the dead end of La Paz street. Heavy footsteps were heard as she sucked all the oxygen she could in her lungs. She faced them with the phone in her hand as she finally looked at the metal-framed technology.
An unknown number was calling but she missed the chance to press the round button.
She finally focused her sight on the stranger in front of her, swallowing the anxiety and death that reeks out of her.
She told herself 'Why is this happening to me!?' while her breath trembled. Snot, sweat, and tears coming out of her bruised and bloodied face, the red, stained the white of her coat as her raven hair tangled in a mess from being yanked and pulled out from the abuse she got twenty minutes earlier.
