"Make him love me!" the girl yelled for the third time grabbing Chalex's shoulders and shaking him.
"I already told you I can't make people fall in love," Chalex said while trying not to make eye contact with her. "And anyway you shouldn't be messing with wishes you could get hurt!" he looked around the classroom for something to use to get away from this girl.
"I don't care!" she screamed, pushing him so he lost his balance. Out of shock, he grabbed her arm to stop himself from falling and they crashed onto the floor. Causing Chalex to slam his head onto a corner of the teacher's desk. Pain pulsed from the spot he had been hit, his vision swam. Chalex looked up at the girl, her fist was raised and he realized he might not be able to escape from her.
"I- I'll grant your wish." he groaned.
"You will?" she asked in surprise.
He nodded and she got off of him. He sat up slowly, his head throbbed as he hugged his knees to his chest. The girl sat cross-legged in front of him.
"So you'll make him love me?" she asked slowly.
"As I said I can't do love. I can do infatuation but it would be better if you settled for him noticing you," he said, still not making eye contact.
"Well if you really can't do love..." she eyed him suspiciously. "I guess him noticing me would be enough." she sighed.
"Good, that shouldn't turn out too bad," Chalex mumbled, wrapping his oversized sweater around his knees and burying his face in it.
"What'd u say?" she asked.
"I told you, wishes have consequences, the more extreme the wish the worse the consequences are." he looked up and made eye contact with her. "You sure you want this?"
"Of course I'm sure," she said confidently. Chalex moved so he was sitting with his legs under him, he pushed up one of his long sleeves and touched two of his fingers to her forehead. She blinked in surprise.
"Now say your wish... and please stick to just him noticing you." he pleaded. "And be specific, say the name of the person who you want to notice you." he broke eye contact moving his gaze to the floor. The girl nodded and took a breath.
"I wish John Jared would-" she hesitated. "Would love me!" she yelled, closing her eyes.
"What?! No! Take it back!" Chalex tried to pull his hand back but he couldn't, his heart started to glow a light purple. "Please, before it's too late!" he pleaded. A wave of purple pulsed through his veins, starting from his heart down his arm and through his fingers enveloping the girl in purple. Then the glow faded, the girl opened her eyes and Chalex's hand fell from her forehead. The girl rose.
"That's it? I don't feel like anything changed." she eyed him suspiciously, he looked defeated and deflated. "You granted my wish right?" she demanded, he didn't answer, he didn't even move.
"Did I kill him?!" she stepped back horrified. "He did say he can't grant love wishes." the girl ran out of the classroom screaming.
...
Chalex woak feeling drained, his head throbbed. He looked around the classroom and discovered the girl was gone. Chalex stood weakly, he was shaking and everything was blurry. He slowly made his way to the nurse's office using the wall to steady him. When he got there he found the bandages and wrapped them around his head. Then he went to his locker and got his backpack. He unzipped the front pocket and took out a pain killer. He swallowed it without any water then put his backpack on and left school. The sun was setting now so everything was tinted red. It was also cold outside so Chalex zipped up his sweater.
He sighed as he made his way home. He had just finished a long day at Hero school, aka Angelica U. Angelica U like most schools was held during the day, sure you may be assigned some night patrolling but usually, you got to go home after school. Demon I's classes were held at night so the chances of being attacked by one of his villain classmates were likely. That's one of the things he hated about the weeks he was in Hero school, he got attacked quite a lot. mostly because he could grant any wish, with some drawbacks of whoever's wish he granted would get an equally bad misfortune.
Chalex's school schedule was best described as if the schools were a divorced couple. One week he was at Angelica U being a hero, fighting villains. The other he was ONE of the villains the heroes were fighting. And of course every time he switched sides the other went out of their way to kidnap him for his power. That's why Chalex sighed, he was tired of being dragged around all the time. Although it's not like he could do anything about it, he was weak, terrible at fighting and his good for nothing power only worked for other people! To make matters worse the final exam was coming up which means the villains had to do something extremely evil and the heroes had to stop them. He knew he probably wouldn't make it home that night, so he decided to go to the park instead to save him the hassle.
It was dark by the time he got there, the park was small with one set of swings and a slide. there wasn't much sand, mostly grass and a path made out of concrete. He sat on the swings and waited. He didn't bother swinging his head hurt too much. He started debating whether to put up a fight when they arrived. On one hand, he was on the hero team right now so he might lose points if he just went with them. But on the other hand, he could barely see straight so it's not like he could do much anyway. He decided he wouldn't do anything and just see where it gose.
Chalex heard a scraping sound coming toward him. He remembered hearing something like that before. he was still trying to remember when someone started talking.
"Well. Well. Charlie Alex. Long time no see. How longs it been a week?" They started laughing.
Chalex looked up and saw one of the first friends he made when he started going to these schools walking toward him. His name was Decker Hoyle. He was tall and was wearing a red sweater with the sleeves ripped off to reveal multiple tattoos. Each one was card themed, with a diamond on his rightsholder, a club and a spade on his left arm and hand, and a heart with a dot under it below his right eye. He had blue eyes and long hair that was black at the roots then shifted to dark blue then red covering his left eye. He was also wearing black ripped jeans and boots. Decker was a scythe user he could cut anyone down in an instant. His power was based on luck, he could change the luck of anything or anyone he wanted.
"I'm guessing you know why I'm here?" Decker asked smirking. Chalex stood up shakily keeping his eyes on the grownd and walked over to Decker.
"Y- you want to kidnap me again." Chalex's legs were shaking, but not because he was afraid. He knew Decker wouldn't hurt him. he was just so tired after granting such a big wish as 'love' that he could barely stand. and to top it all off he had a headache. His vision swam again.
"You don't look so good." was all he heard before he passed out.
