Ok so your probably wondering what the hell is going on? Well let me explain. First off, Caspin.  Ok well maybe we shouldn't start here. Let's start all the way back in the very beginning.
I had just got back home from school and Leo was already there. We still lived in our apartment, but for some reason most days I would get home and Leo would be past our on our couch. But not to today. I shrugged to my self as I walked up the hard wood stairs. I knocked on his bedroom door but he didn't answer. There was something going on but I didn't know what to do until Leo yelled, " I'll be out in a minute!"
     " OK." I yelled back.
I when into my room. It was small but I had a mirror on my closet door that was right in front of me. And seemed to make my room more open. My bed sat unmade and piled with pillows and blankets. I had cloths littering the floor making the dark blue rug underneath barely visible. I sighed walked over to my desk, which seemed to be the only surface not covered with stuff. I sat down and started my homework. Luckily we had had study hall today and I got most of my homework done there. And then it happened.
I may have been nine but I knew that you were not allowed to let strangers into any house without permission. But this man did not ask for permission he burst through the door.
He was still down stairs and then I heard a voice. " Kayla."
" Leo." I whispered." Where are you?"
" Over here. Can you make it to my room? "
" I don't think so." I replied shakily.
Twenty five minutes past before Leo managed to sneak into my room. " Kayla? Where are you?"
" under the bed."
I had got under the bed as soon as I realized that it was not my father that had walked through the door. I left everything out on my desk my homework my phone.
By the time Leo got under the bed you could hear the man walking up the stairs. His heavy foot falls making the stairs creak made me want to run away screaming or vomit. But luckily I didn't do either.
" Where are you, I know your up here somewhere." The mans voice made its way into my room.
He made his way into my room. You could see his dirt crusted boots and part of his navy blue jeans. And finally he got down on his knees and looked under my bed.
" There you are." His voice was gravely and deep. " Come on"
He grabbed my arm and pulled me out from underneath the bed. I tried to get out but it was useless. He was too strong.
" Kayla!" Leo yelled. He got out from under the bed stood up and tried to help me free.
" Uesless boy!" He yelled.
" You can't take her I'll call the police." Leo said sternly. I could tell he was scared but he was trying not to show it.
He had finally had the time to grab my phone off my desk that sat in the corner. I should have told him it was dead but I didn't have the heart. Which was probably a good thing because the man had me in a better grip with my hands behind my back and a knife at my throat. I had no idea where he had got the knife from but it didn't matter. We were dead.
" You would be stupid to call the police boy. Besides you can't call anyone with a dead phone"
I wasn't sure if he was bluffing or he somehow knew it was dead. But at that moment I didn't care. Leo threw the useless phone on the bed and looked ready to fight. But just then another pare of foot steeps came running up the stairs and into the room.
Dad was home. The man had been to busy trying to keep me still because as soon as I heard the steps I knew what was going to happen. So when dad came bursting into the room I fought as hard as I could with Leo clawing at the man and my dad came up from behind and punched him in the back of the head.
The man fell to the ground with a loud thump. I fell to the floor sobbing. Leo and my dad both comforted me. Finally dad got up and turned the man over. A chill seemed to go through the room even though we did not have a window open.
" Caspin." My dad said quietly.
" What?" Both Leo and I asked.
" Caspin and I went to school together. We were always fighting and the teachers got so annoyed that they told us to spend all day talking and getting to know each other without starting a fight. So we tried but he started to talk about these group of people who were different. They had different color eyes. He never told me anything else only that they had different eyes which didn't make much sense at the time because most people had different eyes. But know I understand. This is why he came after you and I am so so sorry Kayla. I will make everything right again i promise."
This was 13 years ago. Nothing became right again. Not like he promised. If anything it was worse. But at least I still had Leo.
