Sitting on her bed staring down at her wrist in pure disbelief; a lone tear runs down her cheek. She can't show her mum this! She can't! She'd call the watchers, she'd be killed!
As she clumbered towards her draw she pulled out a yellow marker from her bedside table before placing it on her mark skritching away at it desperately trying to cover the visible redness, however all the remained was a small burning sensation causing her to wallow to her knees in pain, knocking over the bedside table in the process. A small knock on the door could be heard, " sweetie? Are you ok?". Linn started to freak out before blurting out "fine! Please come back later...", Silence. She called out to her mother again. Nothing.
Slowly she walked over to the door; pressing her ear against it's cold hard wood. Still nothing. Her gut was scrunching in her stomach telling her to back up, 'but this makes no sense.. she was right here?..' she thought. Suddenly she felt the urge to look through the peephole. Despite her better judgement she pressed her eye against the copper peephole, at first all she could see was darkness, but giving her eyes time to adjust something wasn't right.
She couldn't see the hallway, she couldn't see any life, her mother who once was radiating life and love once stood on the other end of the door was replaced with a cold shell of what she could now see was an eye, this wasn't a normal eye however; in this eye she could see nothing, there, no life, no death. Not a glimpse of even the sunshine.
Linn jolted back onto her bed in fear before she turned to her window and started quietly trying to pull open the window, as she attempted her door started to violently shake, so loud and agressively, she started to panic yanking at her window harder and harder until-.... Click.
