* *for those of u not reading my updates nor authors notes before coming to my comments and saying that purpled is uncomfortable, i am aware. in the updates, the story continues to ONLY focuses on his CHARACTER. he IS comfortable with that. do not come to peoples books to attack them without looking into it, thank you.

the blonde girl sighed, stepping out of the car and looking at the house looming in front of her. she gripped her moving box tighter full of her art supplies, as she made her way towards the front door. she peeked behind her to see her mother walking up the steps, smiling at her.
"new beginnings?" she said, intertwining her hand with salem's.
the smaller girl looked up again, releasing a breath. "new beginnings."

salem tucked a strand of hair behind her bandana as she pulled open the door. the house was small, but beautiful. a cottage perfectly suited for her and her mother. the oak door creaked open to the old home and she stepped inside. the sunlight shown through the large windows and onto the green-eyes girls face. she dusted off her flowwy pants as she reached down to pick up a box, this one filled with her and her mother's favorite plants.

the day went by slow. salem was desperate escape, roam the world. that was one of the reasons they moved to where they had in georgia. it was close enough for her mother to run her florist shop from a town main street, but also close enough to the hiking trails for salem and her mother to explore, as they tended to do. they spent their days finding new hikes, exploring the world that they saw in such a beautiful light. even after everything. there was a beautiful birch tree in the front yard, and plenty of space for a garden. she noted that all of the trees in the yard would make excellent spots for painting, writing, and reading. it made her miss her trees, longing to be swinging from then again. these would be her new trees.

she felt the wood of the floor underneath her bare feet as she walked through the beautiful home. she never was one for shoes. she liked the way mother nature felt under her feet, and liked feeling close to the world. she tipped her head back, taking in the sun on her freckled skin as her mother came next to her, gripping her hand as they admired their cottage.

the smaller girl exhaled. "new beginnings".

salem couldn't help but wonder how on earth she was to make new friends. despite being freshly seventeen, she was graduated from high school. she strongly disliked the school system. she didn't need a tradition job. she just wanted to explore the world. she worked at her mothers florist, which was quite popular, and she hoped to open her own metaphysical shop when she was old enough.

the day droned on as the two unpacked, and the sun faded into a golden glow. she bathed in the sun, her shadow cast on the wall behind her, beauty clearly emphasized in her silhouette. her mother often went to sleep early, in order to go to the greenhouse for her shop and tend to the plants. she was out by 8:30, leaving salem to have free reign of the world. she whisked outside, adorned in crystal jewelry, a tank top, and long hippie pants. this made her look like a fairy to those who saw her exploring the creek and the woods behind her new home, her feet bare on the cold ground. she felt the cool air on the nape of her neck and tilted her head to the moon.

"i miss you," she whispered, and went back to admiring mother nature.

at the same time the girl was admiring the world, a boy one house down was booting up a stream. little did he know, that if he peaked to his left, he would see a girl roaming the woods. the girl who changed his life was mere seconds away, whispering to the trees and the sky.

he turned on the game, planning on logging onto the dream smp, which he had recently joined, and doing some mining as he addressed the chat.

"what's up chat! sorry i've been a little mia, but i'm here now, so," he laughed to the chat, as the messages started rolling in. he thanked donos and proceeded with the stream. "in case you don't know, i recently joined the dream smp. i have some ideas for a sky base, so today is going to be a chill stream, and we're going to collect some materials."

salem was dancing in another kind of stream, feeling free and alive.

purpled, as he was known, continued with his stream for the next few hours. whilst he was climbing things in minecraft, salem was scouting out areas to climb up to her roof. she pulled herself onto it from a tree, careful and graceful.

she sat on the roof, bathed in moonlight, drinking in the stars. she rested her face on her knees as she thought. perhaps, she thought, the next night she would take art materials up her. maybe a book. maybe poetry. maybe her ukulele. maybe all. music was playing softly from her phone. she preferred her record player, it made her feel like she was in a movie. she sat on the roof, humming alone dreamily.

the boy sitting at his settup on the bottom floor peeked out his window. his heart skipped a beat. a girl covered in moonlight was sitting on the roof of the house that had been abandoned. he thought he was seeing things, until she shifted her head. her blonde hair fell into place, she flicked her eyes down to the window to see him looking.

unabashed, she waved to the boy. she'd never seen him before. perhaps he was a friend. she broke out in a dimpley smile. she would've climbed down and knocked on the window, but he looked slightly preoccupied, on a computer. she supposed she would say hi when he didn't look busy.

he flushed bright red, forgetting he was on stream. the chat was going crazy, asking why he was red, and why he was staring off stream. he tried to play it off. grayson wasn't the smoothest talker.

*

he ended the stream around an hour later. the girl was still on the roof, leaning back.he smiled at her. strange. he'd never seen anyone like that before.

noticing he looked less preoccupied, she began climbing down, and made her barefoot way to his window.

(a/n: hi guys! welcome welcome to this new fanfic! salem is based painfully on me, even her appearance with blonde hair and green eyes. living vicariously through her lol. anyways i think purpled deserves more attention, so here's this!)
