It had been way too long ever since his hands touched her soft, tanned skin. She missed the way his lips would instantly know where to mark his territory. The way his mouth let out long, romantic speeches about how she was so perfectly meant for him.
The last time they had seen each other was at a party hosted by Mr. Cheng, an Asian businessman who had partnered with both Bass Industries and Waldorf Designs. He was a friendly guy and the Waldorf Family had to show up in his party to show him they respected him just as much as he did to them.
Blair thought about Chuck often, knowing he was in the arms of a certain blonde he picked from Prague where he had been shot. A hard time for her, especially when she knew he was about to leave everything behind, including her.
She could never get herself to move on from him for some reason. And the brunette hated that. She was already too stressed about Columbia, she did not need to be more problematic because of Chuck Basstard.
"B! Are you even listening?" Her eyes flickered once or twice, going back to her senses when Serena's high voice passed through her ears.
"Sorry, S. What were you talking about again?" She took a sip from her tea, hoping to find some relaxation for the stress she was dealing with at the moment.
"Never mind, Blair. Looks like you have some deep thoughts on your mind right now. Do you want to talk about some of them instead?" Serena was worried. She really was. She knew the reasons why Blair was so out of herself recently. She knew Blair still had a massive part of her that loved her step-brother who had been such an ass these past few months.
"It's just. . .why can't I go on a nice date with someone without having to think of him in the middle of a meal?" She sighed heavily.
"You'll get over him soon. What you and Chuck had was special which makes it much harder to just replace him in your heart. Unlike Nate who always had to make you think like you were below him." Serena said as she chewed on a macaroon.
"It was special which makes me so confused how he got himself to be with someone like that Eva girl for 2 months. 2 months and counting, S!" Blair was practically yelling and pacing back and forth across her room.
"Calm down, Blair. We all know Chuck's not taking her seriously. I mean. . .he is not taking her seriously, right?" Blair's heart ached at the uncertainty in Serena's voice. He was Chuck Bass. He could do the anything he wanted to do.
Unfortunately, being with Eva was one of them.
"I have to talk to him, don't you think? Maybe the closure is what I really need to get on with my life. To forget about him." Blair looked at Serena desperately.
Whether she admitted it or not, she had wanted to give him a second chance at the train station after knowing about the 8 carat Harry Winston ring he fought for. Fought hard to the point where he was willing to sacrifice his life for it.
After all, it was the only remaining thing that reminded him of Blair. The ring was safely hidden in his safe, far from Eva's eyes.
"Chuck, do you think this dress would be decent enough for tonight?" Eva jumped next to him on the couch as he read the newspaper, a routine he always does, scotch in his hand.
The brunette boy took a moment to look at the dress- or that was what he thought. It wasn't a dress. It was something Blair would never go for. I mean, why would you wear jeans at a 'meet-my-girlfriend' dinner', he thought. Of course, he'd never say that out loud.
All he could do was nod and smile. He didn't even know how Blair smoothly slid in his thoughts for the nth time today.
Eva beamed. He felt uneasy, seeing her so jolly about her outfit for tonight. Lily had told him personally that she wanted to meet his new. . . girlfriend. He still didn't like that word but it was what Eva was to him. A girlfriend.
He had never called Blair his girlfriend. No, she was so much more. Blair was his best friend, his companion, his partner, his family, his everything.
The term 'girlfriend' was definitely not enough to represent what she was in his life. Until now, he forced himself to also forget about her, and he knew she was doing the same with him.
But he could never ignore the fact that the butterflies were in fact, still alive. He didn't want to admit it, as he and Blair always were in denial, but he still hopelessly and irrevocably and desperately loved her.
He didn't know if he loved Eva, though. Sure, he was happy that he had someone to be there for him in this rough time. But sometimes being with her just felt so wrong. It was so obvious that she had been used by Chuck Bass as a distraction for his reality. The reality he never wanted to face after seeing Blair's horrified and disgusted face when she realized he had been involved with a Humphrey- a name she despised and will despise for the rest of her life.
Now, he was letting his own family meet with Eva, a girl he didn't love. Cursing himself for the mess he was making, he got up and told himself he was gonna fix it someday. For now, he had a dinner to attend to.
"Come on, Blair, you need to loosen up. It's been weeks ever since our last sleepover at my house. Surely, you can take a day off schoolwork, right?" Serena was convincing her nonstop to spend the night at the Van der Woodsen's.
A pile of binders were waiting for her to touch them but the thought of mani-pedis and facemasks stopped her from doing so.
"Fine. Just one night and I'm back to being stressed." She grinned. Serena jumped up and down happily. The blonde didn't know about the dinner that was supposed to happen tonight, as she was ignoring all of the topics related about Chuck.
When Lily was about to mention the dinner with Eva tonight she immediately cut her off and went straight to Blair's place with the obligation of helping her fill the broken hole Chuck had caused.
"Pack a bag! We have a long night ahead of us." Serena says as she dialed some numbers for the schedule she had planned for tonight.
It was definitely gonna be a long night.

I know Chuck did refer to Blair as his girlfriend in an episode or two but we don't talk about that :)
