"W-what the hell?" I whisper to myself as I sat up in my bed. Another strange dream, I've been having these dreams since I was 4 now I'm 9. The dreams are always of one girl, it's like I'm seeing her life and memories through my dreams but in a third person point of view. This time however was of the same girl but standing in front of a titan model, she was saying how it would fix her mistakes and guide the next possessor of her power. 'What does this mean? Who was she really?' I find myself wondering.
Soon enough I shake the thought of the dream out my head and go down and eat breakfast. "Morning Mom, is dad coming back today?" I ask as I go downstairs and greet my mother. "Yes sweetie him and all the survey corps members should hopefully all be back from their mission." mom said with a slightly sad tone. My dad is an officer in the survey corps, he goes outside the walls and kills titans, one day I hope to be just like him in order to help humanity survive.
I watched as the survey corps strode in on their horse, many wounded and some even lost in battle. Me and mom waited at our usual meeting spot for when father arrives home, but he never showed up. Instead one of his comrades came up to us with a journal in his hand, it looked somewhat like father's. As he came to us he held out the journal bowing his head. "W-Where's my h-husband?" my mother shakily stuttered out. "He was a brave and honourable man and he risked his life to save us today, I'm so sorry for your loss." the survey corps member said with tears in his eyes. At those words I looked over at the journal he still held, upon further inspection I realised it was father's. I couldn't help but let the tears stream down my face but if I had learned anything from my dad it would be to help others through the hard time and never let them blame themselves. "I k-know." I say. "And don't blame yourself it will only make things harder, my father was a kind soul who would never wish his death to have someone to blame for." the solider and my mother look at me with a soft expression. "Your right and thank you, the guilt would have eaten me up but your kind words have made me realise the people who are now dead are the people we should cherish and live onward for." the man then bowed and left. "Your too kind, but I know you got that from your father. And your right if we blamed them what good to the world would it have done, your words have always had the power to guide people. Thank you." mom sobbed out as she hugged me tightly. I just collapsed into her warm embrace and cried until I was content with carrying on like my father always wanted if he ever died.
It had been a couple of hours since the return of the scouts, I have to say I've been better but now's not the time to dwell on the past. I decided to visit the market today to ease my mind and have a breather, as well as pick up food for tonight. As I was walking through the market I had a strange feeling in my stomach, but I just shook it off. Well until there was a loud bang from an explosion from outside the wall, because of the force I was bounced into the air just like the people around me. People started to run to the direction of the commotion, once standing in the crowd I looked up like everyone else only to see a giant red hand grabbing onto the wall followed by it's head standing a good 10 meters above the 50 meter wall. "It's a titan." I muttered out. Suddenly it kicks through the wall like it was nothing creating a huge gust of wind knocking people over. Not staying around to chat everyone ran for their lives while buildings fell around them. Rocks and rubble crushing, killing people in it's wake. I ran quickly to my home it was a little ways a way but I had to make sure my mother was alright she had been quite sick these pass few weeks. I take lefts and rights till I finally come across my house, the only difference is that it's fallen to bits. "MOM!" I yell hoping, praying she got out. I quickly look over the fallen house, that's when I see my mother. Crushed under the weight of the building she once lived under. "MOM!" I shout and run over trying to lift the wooden frame from off her body. "I'm sorry Spiro but your going to have to do this without me." my mother weakly mumbled out. "Me and your father had a surprise for you but it's probably gone now." my face held confusion. "You were going to be an older brother one day." at that moment after those words a titan that looked like it was wearing armour ran pass without even trying to eat us. I then go back to looking at my mom and her weak form. "Take these and go!" she yells in that nagging voice that I loved so much but this time held a lot more of a serious expression. "B-but I-" I try stuttering something out through my tears as I held a teddy and my mom's necklace that was left on the ground. "GO!" was my mom's final command as I got up to leave tears streaming down my face. By the time I was a good distance away from any titan I turn back to see my mom being picked up by a 12 meter titan with their signature creepy smile. "M... Mama." I whisper to myself. I slowly made my way to the boat I was probably halfway when a garrison member picked me up and started running with another kid on his shoulder and the other holding his hand.
After a couple of minutes of running the man started slowing down and as a result gave the other boy a chance to hit the back of the blonde man's the head. "Stop it, damn it." the man said "You son of a bitch we could of saved her we almost had her out, why did you come why!?" the boy yelled repeatedly hitting the man's head "I told you to stop!" the garrison officer shouted placing me down and throwing the boy. "Eren!" the black haired girl next to me yelled going over to him. "Look there's nothing you could of done for her you understand, your a kid your weak." the blonde man said, that alone seemed to tick the brown haired boy off even more the boy then goes in to punch said man. "I'm worse, when push came to shove I was too frightened to hold my ground. Your mother died because I'm a dam coward." the garrison member cried out while holding Eren's wrist. "I'm sorry." and like that we began to walk again.
We soon got to the boat and after awhile we boarded I had to stuff my bear into my satchel as for it not be confiscated. I followed the two other kids when on the boat, it was crowded and there was still so many not on board yet let's just hope there's enough boats for everyone. And as soon as we hit full capacity we were off leaving adults and children behind.
