Chapter 5: Brothers and Bones

3rd Person POV

Pacific Rim Naval Base

As Dante stepped out of the Groundbridge, he quickly scanned his surroundings for any Cons or humans. Seeing none, he relaxed and signaled Arcee.

Arcee walked through and looked around at the white sandy beaches. "Pretty hot out here," she said.

"Yes. Yes I am," Dante agreed, glancing around while Arcee rolled her eyes. "Any idea where the Cons are?"

Arcee shook her head. "The signal came from this area, but I'm not sure exactly where."

Dante paused for a second, thinking. "Hey Cee, change into vehicle mode for a second, would you?"

"Why?"

"Just do it, please."

Arcee sighed and transformed. Dante got on, and they drove onto the road.

"Where are we going?" Arcee asked.

In response, Dante pointed at the naval base just ahead. "I've got some friends down here. They might be able to help."

"Friends?"

"Remember Robbie?"

"Oh."

There were a few moments of silence, in which Arcee constructed her Holoform behind Dante.

"You know, so that way I can go in with you," she said in explanation to his questioning look.

Dante nodded, and they pulled up to the gate outside the naval base, where they were halted by two soldiers.

"No civilians beyond this point. Please turn around," one of the soldiers stated.

"I'm here to see Stacker Pentecost," Dante stated. "It's urgent."

The soldiers hesitated.

Seeing their hesitation, Dante sighed and changed his arm into a blade.

Before Arcee could protest, the two soldiers nodded. "Sorry about that, sir. We didn't know you'd be coming in today."

"That's alright," Dante replied easily, changing his arm back to normal. "Is the marshal here?"

The soldier on the left nodded. "Just pull into the main area. He's there right now with Commander Lennox."

"Thank you."

The other soldier gestured to Arcee. "She with you?"

Dante nodded and Arcee pulled in through the gate.

"What was that about?" Arcee asked.

"The soldiers here are aware of Legion," Dante explained. "They've been helping to keep an eye out for MECH, the Decepticons, and any other terminators."

Arcee was silent as they pulled into the main area, where Stacker Pentecost was talking with a soldier with brown hair and black tactical armor. Dante assumed that this must be Commander Lennox.

Stacker turned and was surprised to see Dante pulling in. "Dante? What are you doing here?"

"Picked up some Decepticon activity in the area," Dante replied, getting off Arcee and walking over to him. "Figured I might as well stop by and see if you've picked up anything."
