Missing piece

Robert and Andy woke up wrapped into each other's arm in Roberts bunk , she had sneak in last night after a really rough call they had. They had spend some times together in the cozy room , Andy was falling asleep pretty quickly as she was half asleep on his lap."Andy" "mhm" "you should go to sleep you're tired" "mhm yea soon" "babe you're asleep on my lap go to sleep " he said playing with her hair tucking them behind his ear "okay I'm going one more minute" "one more" he bend down to kiss her lips as he placed a gentle one on hers and then on her cheek"  they spent another minute snuggled with each other until she got up and went to bed . He followed not long after , he was laying on his bed on his phone watching through some pictures he and her had taken on previous dates he had just put his phone on the bedside table when he heard a knock at the door he put on a shirt and opened it , Andy had been very clear to him she did not want him to sleep without a shirt at the station in case they had to leave for a call but he hated to have one it was so uncomfortable so at least he'd always put on before opening doors Or leaving for calls. "Babe what are you..?" "Can I sleep here?" "Andy we talked about this" "I know I know you are my subordinate we shouldn't but I really need this" "Andy.." "please Robert I really need this" "alright come on in" he opened the doors a slight more and let her in and kicked the door behind her , he got back into bed and let her get closer to him she found that spot on his chest fell asleep immediately. The alarm sounded around 3 o'clock in the morning for a call both Andy and Robert got up got dressed quickly and left his bunk , they all geared up and went to the call , on the road it was chatty they had lots of fun Andy Robert Vic and dean were on the engine bishop and Gibson were on ladder and Ben and Travis were on aid car.
When they arrived to the call Robert was facing the scene he couldn't see a thing "damn it!" Andy said Vic looked at her with a confused face "this is.. you know what never mind" "what r u girls talking about?" Dean asked he and Robert was caught off with some story's of baby pru they didn't even see they were on the scene "nothing" they both said as they got out of the engine when Robert step a foot outside the engine his world stopped turning his breath became itchy and fast "hey Robert hey!" Andy said placing one hand on her husband cheek "I'm fine Andy" "no your not you don't have to do this you know we can handle it" "I'm reporting for duty as I said I'm not letting anything escape me" "Robert your wife died out there" "late wife" "Robert.." "Andy.." "fine but if there's anything and I mean anything tell me we will get out of here" they started to threat the patient that was there "Andy I- I can't I can't I can't captain I'm sorry" he said now looking into bishop eyes "what you can do your job probe" "no no I can't Andy please I-" he was starting to get a panicked attack this was way to much "maya please" "he's a probe Andy he needs to do this" a tear started to roll down his face silently and the team were now going from Sullivan to bishop when the team saw Sullivan crying they had to do something "bishop please it's clear something is bothering him" Vic said "I don't care I won't Allow crying on the job" "Andy.. Andy and..Andy-" his breathe were cut short he was struggling Andy got up and took maya apart aggressively "is wife died out there in his arms don't let him do this please not to him and not to me let him" "probe you can leave the scene" Robert got up so slowly and started to walk of he took of his turnout and got into the engine Andy followed him after treating her  patient "babe" Andy said taking his face in her hands he was crying she's never saw him cry like this before but he was , she knew how much it affected him last time she knew it would be the same now maybe worse. She sat in between in legs holding him as he was silently crying in her shirt " I got you you're okay Robert I got you" "Andy I" "it's okay Robert it's okay" she held him close and tight to made sure  he felt safe , they had talk a lot about that since she knocked at his door and basically gave herself to him , they were all they had since her father was left and both were now orphans  she was his safe place and he was hers , she never felt jealous or bad or weird about him talking about his late wife , she always respected it and she knows how it is , he held her while she was talking of Ryan in her dream and he was always okay with that and he always will cause she stills dream about Claire "Robert we have to go back to work" "erm yeah yeah I'm fine" "you are not but we'll figure this out" "yeah" he gave her a quick kiss and dressed back and helped the team clean up , while they were in the back of the engine the team had a talk about Roberts actions they treated him of every words they could because he couldn't keep up with a simple call. They got back to the station and he went straight to the showers after leaving his turnout in the turnout room , he took a very hot shower "Babe" Andy's said as she entered the room "yes?" "Do you want to talk about it?" "Erm not really" "Robert, I am here for you you know that right?" "I know Andy but I don't want you to feel bad about me or something" "hey I'm not here to judge you I love you and I want to be there for you in whatever way you need" "I don't know if I'm ready to talk about that yet" "alright well when you are ready I'll be there" " I appreciate it Andy" he turned around and gave her a light smile , she left and went to the Beanery with the team "what the hell was that"   Vic asked "he can't even do his job!" Dean added "I'd stop talking if i were you" Andy said "we're sorry Andy see.." Travis started " no no I know what you guys are doing" "we didn't mean to let.." Jack started "it's just the man couldn't finish his job" "you don't know what happened!" She started yelling "you don't know what he's been through you don't know what happened what made him act like that you don't know anything because every time he has tried to be friendly with all of you you keep rejecting him" "we.. we're so sorry" "this is my husband and you are my friends if you can't accept us because together fine but please please I'm begging you all to let this one go" "we " bishop started but never finished they were all out of words Andy has never acted like this before . Robert got out of the shower and heard Andy yell to the team to protect him about what happened he got dressed and joined the team , he squeezed Andy's shoulder as he sat down beside her crossed his hands together and rested his head on it , it was very silent and awkward. "I feel like I need to explain" he stated "you don't have to prove Andy already gave us her piece of mind "I appreciate her standing up to me but I need to tell the story , I wasn't able to work on my patient because 9 years ago  my late wife erm Claire (Andy grabbed his hand and he smiled at her) she was driving home to me for her anniversary and I was on a late call that day when we got there it was hit and run and I was with Ripley that day and Andy's father to treat the patient when we got there it was her it was Claire right there on that street and I won't got much into details cause it's not something I want to talk about but I can't work on that street because she died there right in my arms so I'm sorry for my behaviour it won't happen again" he got up and left the room when a shatter or sorry probe was heard Andy followed him to his bunk "Robert hey let me in" "Andy please I really don't want to" "let me in before I kicked the door open" he didn't hesitate a second and open the door for him "come here" she said he went closer to her and hug her , he locked the door once again and laid on the bed and waited for her to lay down next to him she whispered sweet things to him making him relax and then letting him drifted off to sleep. She left him one kiss on the chest before getting the blankets on top of them . He knew after today that whenever or whatever happened she's always gonna be there for him day to night and that she'll never let him go.
