A/N

Before I get on with this story, much like Haikyuuronpa, I will put out some background information about it.

• This story will share quite a lot of details from the anime, and the parts will proceed like episodes.

• If this story seems like Kakegurui with Haikyu!! characters inserted and it becomes boring, I apologize in advance. I'm really trying to twist some events, personalities and behaviors so it actually becomes interesting.

• For the characters representing the Momobami Clan, some names have been altered so their last names end in -bami, including the main character. If the name is cringy to you, I apologize in advance.

• All the characters I've chosen to have the suffix -bami in their name will go by their first name. (e.x., Hinata will go by his first name, Shoyo, while his last name will have -bami at the end.)

• All gambles in the anime will be used in this story.

• Character relationships were devised by me and it took a while to perfectly match the Haikyu!!characters with Kakegurui characters, along with their relationships. Please refrain from mentioning who should've been who.

Hyakkao Private Academy.

The school linked to financial and social success in Japan, is about to celebrate its 122nd anniversary.

At this school, the hierarchy isn't determined by sports or popularity. It's all about money.

That and how good of a gambler you are.

In a room, only lit by a small, bright fixture overhead, sat two students, engaging in a gamble. A card game, if you will. Both contenders had unstable breathing, appearing as if they were struggling.

"You seem rather nervous for someone so passive, Kenma~" teased one boy.

"Shut up!" shouted the other in response. In the middle of the table, stood the dealer, who made the calls and officiated this game.

"And with that, the calls are complete. Reveal your hands!" she shouted. The latter showed his cards first, revealing the Queen of diamonds and clubs, along with the threes of spades, hearts and diamonds.

"I see. A full house?" the former questioned.

"Play it or call it quits, Sugawara," the latter replied harshly. Sugawara sighed, and right after, a smirk appeared on his face.

"It's too bad, really," he spoke. Sugawara then showed his hand, revealing the Ace, Queen, King, Jack, and Ace of hearts. The latter was slightly taken aback at the sight, but he still managed to keep a cool head and a nonchalant face.

"How did you manage to pull that off?" he asked, "A straight royal flush, huh? I guess this means I go further into debt, doesn't it?"

"Indeed, but no worries." He walked over to the other boy's side of the table and placed one hand in front of him.

"You're pretty obedient when you're above the ranks, so I know you'll be alright. Do your best, puppy~"

It was that day that he ceased being a human. He didn't mind, however, he couldn't help but absolutely despise what happens to those who fall down and below the ranks. House pets.

Usually, when you plunge that far, it's difficult to swim back up again.

Or so he thought.

Until he arrived.
