It's peaceful. You can barely hear noises of cars flying down the asphalt. It's wet after It's been pouring the whole night. There are puddles all over the road. there is a white worn-down house at the end of this dirt road. It feels off for no real reason. Suddenly, the front door bursts open with a loud bang. Three kids run out with the happiest faces you can imagine. They run down the stairs of their porch and start running down the road. they run for a minute until they get tired and just walk. one of the boys stops, he realizes he left something home and tells his siblings:

- I have to go back, I forgot my notebook. wait for me, ok?

- we'll just keep going and you catch up John.

- Fine.

He runs back for his notebook while the other two children keep on going. They make it out to the side of the highway. The spring city middle school is in sight already.

Little John finally gets what he was looking for and runs back out of the house. he's quite tired by now, but he really wants to catch up. As soon as he passes the place where they were just stopped at, he hears a loud screech and in just a few seconds a bang follows. His mind is so pure that he would only think it was just some fireworks. If only he knew the horror awaiting him in just a dozen seconds. John walks out on the side of the highway and he sees a semi-truck overturned with black smoke emerging out of it. He has no idea what just happened. everyone backs up their cars thinking the truck might blow. The whole road is blocked and the truck's not going to move anytime soon. A stranger comes up and says:

- Hey kid, where do you live?

John points at the road he just came from.

- Okay, why don't you walk down to your house and go to your parents.

John goes back down the road and walks into his house with a sad face. His mom takes deep breath and says:

- What else did you forget?

- Nothing ma, I couldn't go to school.

- Why not honey, are you okay?

- There was a big truck in the road on its side and a man told me to come to you.

- Where's Nathan and Kelly?

- I don't know.

Elise wakes up her husband while calling the school. The school answers the phone:

- Hi, this is Spring City school, how can I help you?

- Hello, I just wanted to ask, I'm Nathan and Kelly Harris's mom and have they come into school yet?

- Umm, let me check.

After two minutes she comes back.

- Yea so, no they haven't come in yet.

- Alright, thanks, bye.

Elise puts down the phone and tells Mark:

- They haven't gotten there yet, they should be there already, John said there was a truck overturned on the road Mark, anything could have happened!

- Calm down, I'm sure they're fine, I'll find them right now.

Mark quickly puts on whatever clothes he found first. He runs down the stairs and almost trips. As soon as he gets out to the highway, he sees the semi. There's a fire truck already pouring water on it. The fire's almost out. Mark goes up to one of the men standing not too far from the fire truck.

- What happened man?

- Ahh, I'm not sure, they say the truck hit somebody. I don't know.

- What? Hit who?

- I don't know man, I just said.

Mark runs up to one of the firemen.

- Did it hit anyone?

- We're not sure at this moment sir, could you just move back.

Up to twenty minutes pass and the smoke starts to clear, the fire is out. Right next to the truck is a school bag ripped apart with books spread out. Just a bit lower, behind the truck, off the road, a fireman sees a little girl's body. Elise comes out on the highway as well. she sees Mark and walks towards him. The fireman calls out to his coworkers:

- We got a body over here.

Mark's eyes widen as he runs over breaking through the yellow tape and what his eyes see in that moment, words can't explain. He screams:

- Noo, oh god no, baby...

He hugs Kelly's soulless body as Elise runs over and sees her daughter. In shock, she doesn't say a word. After an hour of emergency services going through the area, they find Nathans body just a bit deeper in the woods. The slight hope that Elise and Mark had of Kelly being the only one went away. Meanwhile John sits in his and his siblings room playing with his Star Wars toy, not knowing that this day is the start of his cruel, bloody life.
