One.

Eliza's POV

"........and that's why constructive interference occurs when two waves collide."

I placed my physics paper down onto the podium I was standing in front of. I glanced over the class and saw the faces of many bored teenagers. I quietly sighed and muttered a quick "thank you" as I took a seat at my desk in the front row.

"Thank you for that lovely presentation, Eliza." Mrs. Ronda smiled as she glanced over the names on her roll call. "Up next, ....Ross Lance please." she groaned.
I could tell from the tone of her voice Ross wasn't one of her favorite students. He was a slacker. He was part of what I liked to call the "populars".

"Aye boys it's my turn", he faced his crew in the back of the room as he proceeded to fist bump each one of his friends. He then redirected his attention to the now-impatient Mrs.Ronda at the front of the classroom. He hopped out of his chair and strolled to the front of the room.

"Ha, Mrs. R instead of talking about wave interference.. " he faced my desk. "I'd rather talk about deconstructing the waves of these fine girls in our class."
Ugh. Gross.
My face churned in an aura of disgust.
"Mr. Lance! That is not the kind of behavior we tolerate in a classroom environment!" Mrs.Ronda shrieked with a hint of terror in her voice.
His friends hyped up in the back of the classroom. "Aye yo Ross-" one blonde boy called out.
Ross redirected his attention to his friend.
"I bet Mrs. R ain't getting no wave deconstruction back at her place."
"That's why that's such a touchy subject..." another boy chimed in.
The boys in the back continued to laugh and cheer in agreement.
I turned to look at Mrs.Ronda only to see that the poor teacher was in despair. She was the timid type of teacher. She was fairly young (possibly in her late 20s) and was unfortunately completely oblivious to the types of kids at our school. She never yelled at us. She never gave out any punishments. She just sat shyly at her desk, her long blonde hair shielding her from all the disrespectful kids at our ghetto high school. Since she was so nice, boys like Ross took advantage of her. However, I was not quite as timid as her. I loved Mrs.Ronda and I wasn't going to let Ross attack an innocent teacher.

I gathered up my courage and got up out of my seat to match Ross's towering height.
I began to slowly and softly stutter the words,"Ross, you need to st-st-stop."

He looked at me with a pathetic look on his face. "Sorry, what was that? Did anyone else hear that faint noise?" The boys in the back chimed in as they made fun of the level of quietness I was talking at.

He was being a complete jerk.

I spoke a bit louder, "Ross you need to stop bothering Mrs. Ronda."

He continued mocking me as if he could not hear what I was saying. At this point, I became infuriated with him.

"Ross.. you and your DUMB ASS friends need to leave Mrs. Ronda alone!"
"Aw how cute, I think she threatened me.." he cooed and then pushed me to the ground.

During this time Mrs.Ronda had crawled under her desk, terrified at the start of a potential fight.
She must have called the principle in her despair because in that exact moment Principle Franklin walked into our physics room, slammed the cold, heavy door and looked Ross and I both dead in the eyes.

"My office, NOW."
