Its cold.
What's happening?
I hear voices I've never heard before. There's yelling, crying, and the sound of tap water trickling down into the sink. Cold hands grasps my head and bottom. I start to cry. My eyes are shut tight. I try to open them, but they stay firmly shut. I try kicking to feel the comforting feel of the warm skin of my home. My feeding tube is gone, and I feel no other warm skin. Someone's holding me. They are walking me into some kind of room. The person finally set me down. I flinch when warm water and cloth hit my back. I settle in a warm chair, covered in water. It gives me comfort. I try once again to open my eyes. Nope. Sigh. Hands put water all over my body. I dont scream in fright like the other babies. I let it happen. After my bath, I get wrapped in a towel. The same person carries me into another room, where they hand me off to another person. This one holds me to their chest. I can tell its a woman by the feeling of her chest. She strokes my forehead and says "shhh, its okay baby, your with mommy." I open my eyes. The lady is beautiful. She seems to have been crying. She laughs while tears stream her cheeks when I look up at her. "Hi baby!" She says. Next to her is a man. He smiles when I look up at him. "Hi sweetheart! I'm daddy!" He kisses me. "Welcome, Mindy." Mommy says to me. Mindy. Is that my name? I guess so. I close my eyes. Today was tiring. I rest my little head on the cloth in the lady's arms. Man, being born is rough.
