"I don't owe you an explanation, love." Those were Klaus's parting words to Emilia before he left. Over the following months, she gradually healed from the hurtful words, focusing on more important matters. Yet, she still experienced the five stages:

Denial

"It was a mistake, just a misunderstanding. He'll apologize, and everything will be fine," Emilia reassured her friends.

Anger

"I hate him! He'll regret leaving me and betraying me!" Emilia vented to her friends.

Bargaining

"If only I had spent more time with him, maybe he wouldn't have strayed," Emilia lamented to Caroline.

Depression

"My life feels empty without him," Emilia confided in her friends.

Acceptance

"I'm better off without him and his negativity. My children deserve better," Emilia declared.

Now, she's in a better place with the support of her husbands and children. Emilia sits at her computer, sorting through school-related documents.

Her phone rings, and she checks the caller ID (My Love).

"Hey," Emilia answers warmly.

"Hey, Sweetheart," Stefan's voice soothes her. Despite their years of marriage, his voice still has the same effect on her. The feeling is mutual.

"So, Stef, what's up?" Emilia asks as she continues organizing school materials.

"What? Can't I just call my gorgeous wife for no reason? Just kidding. How about a lunch date at the Townhouse Cafe?" Stefan suggests, thinking of his beautiful wife.

"Yes, I'd love that," Emilia agrees, closing her school files.

"I'll meet you there, Beautiful," Stefan replies, gathering his belongings.

"Okay, honey," Emilia confirms.

Townhouse Cafe - 25 minutes later (fun fact: this is an actual Cafe in Covington, Georgia)

"Sorry I'm late, babe. Had to finish up some school stuff," Emilia apologizes as she hurries to join Stefan in the booth. Stefan gazes at her, still captivated by her beauty after all these years. When he returned to Mystic Falls, he believed she was the most beautiful woman in the world.

Now, you might wonder, wasn't Stefan in love with her sister? Yes, he was. People thought Elena and Stefan were meant to be, but they eventually realized they were not. They both found love with each other's siblings—Elena with Damon and Stefan with Emilia, gradually but surely.

Speaking of Damon and Elena, instead of Stefan dying in hellfire, Damon did. Damon and Elena had their poignant farewell. Unable to live without him, Elena followed him in a manner reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet—star-crossed lovers bound together in eternity.

"Hey, sweetheart, no problem at all," Stefan reassures her, still enchanted. "You look absolutely stunning," he adds with a smile.

"Thank you, honey. I was just going through school records when you called," Emilia says, grabbing a menu. "I missed you," she adds, sharing a sweet kiss with her husband. They break the kiss, and Stefan also picks up a menu. They quickly decide on something to share and order.

They eat swiftly, mindful of their busy schedules. Standing up from the booth, they embrace, sharing a passionate kiss.

"I love you so much, Sweetheart. See you at home," Stefan says tenderly, kissing her forehead.

"I love you too," Emilia responds warmly as they head towards their cars.

One hour later

Emilia steps out of her car for a quick coffee break and accidentally bumps into two people, causing her bag and books to spill. "Oh, I'm so sorry," Emilia apologizes, bending down to gather her things. The women help her.

"It's quite alright," the blonde says kindly, handing Emilia her belongings. As Emilia touches their hands, she senses something familiar—they're witches.

"I hope this doesn't come off as rude, but are you two witches?" Emilia asks with a gentle smile, trying not to sound intrusive.

The two witches are surprised by her keen observation. "Yes, we are. Do you happen to know how to contact the headmistress of the Salvatore Boarding School? We're interested in enrolling our niece," the dark-haired one explains politely.

Recognizing Emilia from Klaus's paintings, the witches think to themselves, "She's even more beautiful in person."

"Yes, I do. Could I have your names?" Emilia asks politely.

"I'm Freya, and this is Davina," Freya introduces them.

"Alright, I can arrange a tour of the school for you before you decide. Let me give you the school's number. Also, could I get one of your numbers so I can contact you to schedule the visit?" Emilia says, pulling out a pen and paper. She writes her number on one piece and hands the other to Freya. Freya writes down both hers and Davina's numbers. They exchange papers and bid each other goodbye.

"Okay, I'll call you or you can call me. Take care," Emilia says, adjusting her bag.

"Thank you, and have a great day," Davina says warmly, while Freya waves goodbye. Emilia heads into the coffee shop.

"Wow, she's stunning," Freya remarks, watching Emilia enter.

"I know, right? She looks exactly like his paintings," Davina agrees as they walk away.
