My alarm clock goes off at six a clock every morning. I stare up at my ceiling, waiting for the loud beeping noise to begin. Looking over at my clock at my bedside table, I see that it is already six.
"Shoot." I mutter. I need a new alarm clock.
I trudge out of bed, dreading going to school today. It's Monday and of course, I feel like I could use another day to sleep.
The stomping up and down the stairs has begun, featuring my younger brother and sister chasing each other.
"No! No! No! 'Top it Eddie! It my bear bear!" Cecelia, my little sister shouts at Eddie, my little brother.
"'Oo 'av to get me f'rst." Eddie screams back. I groan, wishing they would just shut UP.
When I look at the clock again, it reads six fifteen. Time goes by fast.
I trudge out of bed, moaning and groaning bad words under my breath.
Getting dressed is the hardest part. Once I pick out a shirt, I pick out pants that don't go with it, then I change my shirt again.
Before I open my bedroom door, I grab my book that is sitting on my bedside table. The pages are dog-eared and creased from reading it so much.
"Alice! Hurry up! The bus will be here soon!" Mom shouts up from downstairs. I roll my eyes. I can do it myself, gosh.
"I'm coming! I'm coming!" I shout back, though I'm already down the stairs.
"There" Mom says, plopping down toast on my plate. "eat up."
I eat quickly then get up to grab my phone. My parents don't trust me with my phone upstairs in my bedroom. They think I will just be on it all night. They are so unfair.
I'm not saying that I won't play on it all night, but still.
The bus pulls up, almost knocking down our mailbox. Mom's face gets really red, making her look like a red velvet cupcake, with her tomato face and beach blonde hair. I duck my head, laughing to myself.
Cecelia and Eddie rush past me, still playing their childish games.
Cecelia screams. Eddie grabs her by the hair and tells her to shut up.
Mom rushes over to the twins, yelling at them and threatening to ground them. She never does though. That's why they keep on being bad.
"Bye Mom!" I yell, trying to get out of the chaos. I run outside, by backpack hanging off my shoulder.
Once I get on the bus, I sit on the seat I always sit. Second row, window seat. I read Harry Potter as I wait for my friend to get on the bus (A/N 😏).
It's my second year at my new middle school, and so far, I've made, like, three or four friends. I know. Sad, Right? I ride on the bus with Alex. I'm in all my classes with Kota and Grace. And my half friend, Ted, who is a boy, is who I text when I'm bored.
Alex shows up minutes later.
"Hey."
"Hey."
Alex isn't very social. As soon as we finish talking, she gets on her cell phone and checks Facebook. I go back to my real book, and bury my face in it.
