you're sick

"I'm tired of being so sick." You muttered as you hung your head over the bed, your stomach ridding the soup Emma made you a few minutes ago.

It was yet another thing you couldn't keep down. You've got the stomach flu and every minute you spend is sick is torturous.

Between throwing up, having the chills, and your muscles being so achy you can't even get up to use the bathroom on your own, you're feeling absolutely awful and ready for it to be over; although it feels like you'll never get better.

"I know." Emma comforted, her hand brushing along your back in circles. "Let it out, y/n. I'm here." She said as she gathered your hair into her other hand and tried to lay little kisses to your neck to bring you some added comfort.

It felt like an eternity before you stopped throwing up. But when you did and your stomach started to settle, you leaned back against your worried girlfriend.

You had no strength and no energy, so you felt even more thankful for Emma than you usually do because you know for a fact that you couldn't get through this on your own.

"You're still warm but not as bad as before," she said as she helped you lay down, gently pushing you onto your back.

Her hand caressed your forehead and cheeks. She frowned as you began to shiver again and she reached for the sheet to bring it to your shoulder to try to warm you up again.

"How's your stomach? Still feel sick?"

"Not right now."

"Good. By the way, that was a really nice way of telling me that my soup-making skills could use a little work."

You tried your hardest to give her a playful shove, but with how weak you felt it wasn't easy to do. She still pretended to be surprised, pouting her lips sadly before chuckling softly as your eyes locked with her worried ones. She leaned down, lips brushing along your forehead lovingly and lingering against your warm skin.

"You okay, baby? Anything you need?"

"Could you cuddle me?"

"Of course. I'm always happy to cuddle with my girl."

"Your cuddles make me feel better." You mumbled when you laid your head back against her chest.

"Yeah?" She smiled and leaned down to bury her lips in your hair, another lingering kiss following but this time on the crown of your head. "Good. Because it makes me feel better when I get to hold onto you. I love you and I'm sorry you feel so terrible. But it won't be forever until you're feeling better. You know I'll be right here to take care of you until then."

"I know. Thank you." You mumbled as you closed your eyes. "Love you."

"Love you too. Get some rest. I'll be right here if you need me." She said and stared down at you as she brushed her fingers along your shoulder as you drifted off to sleep, hoping you'd wake up feeling somewhat better than you did now.
