Violet P.O.V.
"Oh, V, will you be home tonight? I need you to watch Jack and Dash?" Mom frantically asks as she shoves a lunch box in Dash's backpack."Mom, I have plans tonight." I try to explain as thoroughly as possible. Really, I was just going to go to the library and do my homework, but I just don't want to babysit for my brothers. They both have blonde hair and blue eyes. So do Mom and Dad . I don't know where my face got mixed in, darker blue eyes and hair so black it looks almost purple. We don't even dress similarly; Jack and Dash have on blue polo shirts and kakis, too formal for my taste and my school, and I'm wearing a purple shirt and dark jeans.
"Please?" Mom begs. I guess since I never do anything on Friday nights it might be nice to be home alone for a while. Jackie and Dash can go to bed early, like at eight thirty, and I can have the night to myself to pig out, watch movies, experiment with make up and all that girly stuff.
"How ong will you be gone?" I sigh. If I'm going to be doing this on a Friday, I'm going to make sure I have time to myself so I could do said girly stuff.
"Your father and I were thinking we'd stay out overnight. But if you need us home sooner, just tell me." Mom says. Perfect, a whole Friday night. Mom and Dad probably wouldn't check out until noon, so I'd get a half-day to myself, too.
"Oh, no, totally fine. Completely." I assure my Mom. Then I realize that I'll get payed and I smile to myself. A perfect Friday night, well to me. Most girls in my grade would think a perfect Friday involves some dirty stuff.
"Thanks, V." Mom sighs in relief and continues packing the back pack when Dash runs in.
"Mom, I finished my homework! I finished!" He chants. That's Dash for ya, more absorbed in pulling his hair back with his gell and running to school faster than anyone than actually finishing his homework. Running is like his super power. My super power is being invisible. Or feeling that way. Nobody at school ever notices me.
"That's great Dash, put it in your bag." Mom enthusiastically says as she runs around the room trying to organize two kids lives. She's never done that for me, I can do that myself. I always have but after me she decides to help.
"Mom, Jackie has a dirty diaper." I call as I grab my back pack and walk out for school. I smirk walking through the door. I don't know why but right now, I'm kind of mad at Mom. I guess thinking of how she does everything for Dash but when I was his age she was preoccupied with everything but me.
On my way to school, I see someone throw an empty pop can into the middle of the road. I can't help but run into the road to pick it up, but as I walk in some guy runs me over with his motorcycle. He doesn't mean to; it's my fault. I shouldn't been so stupid as to run into the middle of the street. Luckily, the guy who ran me over stops to help me. He gets off the cycle and takes his helmet off, and I know who it is. It's Wilbur, a popular "smart guy" who goes by Will.
"Whoa, sorry! Are you okay?" He asks, holding out a hand to help me up. I try to take it, but I can't find the strength. "Oh, gosh. I really hurt you, you want me to call for some help?" He asks. This is so weird, the most popular guy in school is paying me attention, and I'm not even replying. I can't. I feel like my vocal cords have fallen apart.
"No, no, don't call for help. I'll be okay." I assure him. I still can't get up, which makes it really heard to convince Will I'm okay.
"Okay, but let me give you a ride. You need to rest your ankle. Here," he lifts me on to his motorcycle. It hurts, but not as much as it hurt trying to get up. Once I'm secured, I know exactly what to do. I rap my arms around his waist and lean into him. This is because I can't hold myself up on my own. He's pretty skinny, not super muscular. He has hair and eyes the colors of mine.
