Transfer Student

"I'll be fine Keigo." I assured the number two pro hero, my pointed ears twitching with annoyance. "I know it's going to be a whole new experience, but I'm actually kind of excited about it."

We flew as close as our wing spans would allow, me slightly behind him. It felt good to stretch my leathery bat-like wings.

"Ok, but if anyone gives you shit just ignore them, you don't need any trouble on your first day." He advised. "Unless someone hits you, then you can hit them back." He added after a beat. "Just don't kill anyone."

"I'm not planning on hurting anyone, I just want to be a normal teenager for one year." I explained.

We arrived at the entrance gate to U.A. "Thank you for flying me in today, and thanks again for taking me in."

"No problem kid." He laughed ruffling my black hair. "Stay safe."

"You too. Bye." I waved before I scanned my badge and pulled the map of the school out of my bag.

Ok, class 3-A. Third floor, building three. Let's go!

I could feel my heart rate increase as I headed to the classroom. I knew I was supposed to talk to the home room teacher as soon as I got into the classroom. I opened the massive door and stepped through. There were already students inside chatting waiting for class to begin. The pro hero Snipe looked up from his notes at the front of the class as I entered. Several of the students had noticed me too. I approached Snipe at the front.

"Hello sir," I greeted with a slight bow. "I'm Noda Hikari the new transfer student."

"Ah yes, welcome to 3-A." He nodded in return. "Do you see that shy boy with black hair?" He asked nodding in his direction.

"Yes, sir." I said glancing at the tall, lean, raven haired boy; who was currently staring at his desk.

"Your desk is the one to the left of his." He explained. "Take a seat and I'll call on you in a few minutes to introduce yourself."

I bowed again and took my seat. I looked at the raven haired boy and smiled. He just blushed and looked away. He must be timid. That's ok. I thought as I waited. After about a minute I was looking at my phone when a tall muscular boy and teal haired girl came into the room. "Tamaki!" The boy called. "How was your break?" He asked. "I wish we could have spent more time together."

"Y-yea it was f-fine" Amajiki then glanced at me as if silently communicating with the other two.

"Oh hi there!" The teal haired girl peaked around the much taller blond boy. "I'm Hadou Nejire. This is Tamaki Amajiki." She gestured to the sitting boy still starring at his desk. She then gestured to the tall boy standing beside her. "And this, is Togata Mirio. What's your name? Did you transfer here? Why are you wearing sunglasses?" She asked excitedly.

I giggled, and brushed my long black hair behind my ear. "My name is Noda Hikari. Yes, I transferred here. My eyes are sensitive to light."

Just then the bell rang and everyone took their seats.

"Miss Noda please come introduce yourself." Snipe waved me up. "Tell us your name, what your quirk is, and why you want to be a pro-hero."

I walked to the front and faced the class. "My name is Noda Hikari. My quirk is bat-kin, and I want to be a pro hero to make a positive difference in this world." I bowed to the class and returned to my seat.

The morning was mostly review of Math that I had already learned. I took notes and tried to pay attention to the lecture. But my mind kept wandering and I stared out the window past Amajiki, who kept blushing and looking away.
