**Lennon's POV**

Let's just say I'm not a morning person.

So when the shrill sound of my alarm filled my ears in an instant as the clock hit 6:00 AM, I was not too thrilled about having to leave the comfort of my bed and start my day.

I flailed my arms around to find the deafening hell machine which had to be somewhere on my bed. Once I finally managed to quiet my phone, I stayed in my bed for a couple of minutes dreading what was to come.

Today is Sunday, meaning it's the start of my two-week-long torture.

I finally decided it was time for me to get up, no matter how bad I wanted to stay wrapped up in my blankets that I wouldn't get to see for two whole weeks. The wooden floor beneath my feet was unbearably cold as I headed to my bathroom to do my business. In contrast to all the noise I was making from doing my morning routine, the house was dead silent becuase my sister and mother were still sound asleep.

Speaking of my sister, I guess you can say we aren't on speaking terms since the incident that occurred at the store Friday. She's been in her room all weekend and when she does come out of her room, she ignores me completely. Well, excluding the family dinners and such where she had no choice but to be by me. This wasn't too out of the ordinary since we never really had a close bond in the first place.  But, this time she wouldn't even engage in our usual involuntary small talk -totally not saying that I kinda liked our small talk, whaaaat?

Our usual relationship consisted of us each staying in our own rooms most of the time. We had a couple of short conversations every once in a blue moon, which would almost always turn into an insult party. And, never hung out willingly with one another unless forced to by our mom, and you saw how that turned out last time......But she's never shut me out like this before.

I'm completely fine with our relationship, but sometimes I do wonder what it would be like if I didn't have a sister that disliked me, very much, half the time.

I finished brushing my teeth and splashed my face with cold water, attempting to wake myself up more, bad decision- now I'm just cold. The floor creaked below my feet as I walked back to my room. I grabbed the packing list we were given on Friday and headed over to the other side of the room where my camping bag was sitting. Plopping the bag down on my bed, earning a loud creak in return, I rummaged through checking to make sure I had everything that was on the list.

Pajamas- check

toiletries- check

Extra clothes- check

Scout uniform- well I had to wear that anyways

Motivation to actually go- not check

I was still missing a few things so I scurried around my room to retrieve them. In the middle of grabbing baby powder (don't judge, baby power keeps you from being all sticky if you put it on. And I'm not about to go two weeks being all sticky) my phone got a notification, so I went to check who had texted. It was Porter, he texted to let Clay and me know he would be on his way to pick us up in about 10 minutes. I responded 'okay' and returned to packing last-minute things and getting ready.

When Porter said he was a few minutes away, I headed out of my room to go say bye to my mom. I pulled my bedroom door open to see my mom already standing on the other side.

"Oh, good morning Len. I was just about to go say goodbye." She greeted in a monotone voice.

"Morning mom, is dad here?"

"Yea he got back in late last night, so we don't want to wake him. He is leaving again later tonight for another trip." I could hear the slight disappointment in my mom's voice when she said the last part.
