(YOLO. it's 10pm.)
Xavier's POV
I couldn't let Kevin hurt her. I jumped in front of her without thinking. A sharp pain sent me to the ground, the wind knocked out of me. Kevin yelled something and Alyssa helped me up. We walked to the nurse's office together.

"Well Mr. Lockwood. You may get a bruise, but you mostly just got the wind knocked out of you." The nurse smiled and Alyssa looked relieved.
"I just had to protect Alyssa." I explained.
"Try to be more careful. You come in here a lot for that reason, Xavier."

I was staring at Alyssa as she concentrated on her work. We were sitting at the kitchen table in my house. Her cell phone beeped.
Her mom was texting. When Alyssa got off the phone, she was all smiles as she explained what they were talking about.
"My mom said there was a new surgery that may allow me to speak again! But, there is a chance of being paralyzed."
"That's great! But I don't want to lose you."
She stood there, a bit shocked at what I said, apparently.
