(Vivyan's POV)
It was early. It was cold. I was trying to sort out the radio to try and find a colony in the mountains, for me and minow. I had managed to come in contact with a survivor from that colony named Clyde. I have also come in contact with a guy named Joel. He tries to get to a girl called Aimee. He sounds desperate when I hear him. We talk for like a few minutes. It gets lonely you know? Just want a friend. We speak to eachother, start to really like the guy but all he talks about is Aimee. I guess it's his girlfriend.
Me and minow get out once in a while to get water and herbs for dinner. Our father, he was the best at hunting, shooting, fighting, you name it he could do it. I miss him. I'm sure minow misses him more though they were closer than he was with me. I didn't care, I'm quite a quiet girl and didn't like socialising, completely opposite to minow. But it a win for me because whose going to socialise in a apocalypse. Even though I'm a quiet girl, when it comes to fighting you don't want to fuck with me
I tell minow that I talked to a guy named Joel but I don't tell her what we say. It's nothing interesting anyway. She doesn't really care. Don't blame her.
(Time skip)
I have just come off my contact call with Clyde and we have decided to start to head off to the mountains. We had planned this out perfectly and thinks it's the right time. It's just going to be hard telling minow and my people in my colony.
I tie my honey brown hair into a messy bun and start packing. Minow is happily sitting on her bed sharpening a spear for when we go hunting next. I hurriedly grabbed my green rucksack and pack the necessities that me and Clyde agreed on that me and minow would need. Minow looks at me with a confused face, " what are you doing?" She asked in a sassy tone. I huffed with stress and faced her,"I'm packing". Minow looked at me with hope, hoping that what she's thinking is true ,"we're going to the mountains". Minow jumped off her bed and tackled me with a hug. "Finally!" She screamed. "It takes us about 10 days to get ther are you up for it?" I said looking down at her. She nodded eagerly. I chuckled. As the laughter died down I asked "Do you want to tell the others or should I?". She looked at me acting like she never heard me. I guess I do. "Ok I guess I am" I mumbled as she got off me to go packed her own gear.
As we finished packing up ,making sure we have everything we need, it was time to tell our colony that we were going.
"Hey guys?" Our colony snap their heads to look in our direction. " me and minow are going. To the mountains. It's safer." All of them look confused, probably just digesting the news that they just received. "Why?" Jason asks. Jason is the oldest. He's basically our leader. " because it's safer than here Jason" minow says with her usual sassy tone. I look at minow for a split second mentally telling her to shut up. " it's better for minow, I've got too guys, c'mon" . Lisa walks up to us. Lisa has such a kind soul, I'm sure she'll understand. She kindly whispered " it's okay, we understand. Go ". I exhaled with relief "thank you ". I looked at minow asking her if she's ready and get one last look at people I called family. We said out goodbyes and headed out into the open air. It's me and you now minow. Us against the world.
