"I cannot stop thinking about you, you're the only reason I want to get up, to see the war end, to think there is something still left fighting for," I begin, the script flows easily from my brain, I've etched the words into my soul by this point but now that the doe eyed being that mesmerized me was still here listening to me from the back of the room I felt I had to give it my all to impress her. I don't understand why I care so much what she thinks but I do.

"Ya nepoymy tebya, chto govorish?" Rick reads the Russian lines with a definitive broken accent, pretending to be my female lead.

"Tell me you understand me, tell me you hear me and my heart beat for you," I almost uncontrollably increase the desperation in my voice, walking towards Rick at the table to make it more believable.

"Hochesh chto?" Rick says and a second later a bit of a laugh is heard from the back, like someone couldn't help it from escaping their lips. Everyone from the table looks behind them trying to make out who could have laughed at such a scene, I follow them and my eyes land on her. My doe eyes, she was the one that laughed, maybe it is time to rethink my profession. I began to form a sweat at the thought that she was laughing at me and the way I was reading my lines. I look at her dumbfounded, she appears to be a deer caught in headlights.

"Excuse me, do you have a problem? Perhaps the script is not to your liking, who are you and what are you doing here anyways," Ricks harsh tone cuts me from my thoughts as I watch him interrogate her.

"Did you have a reason to interrupt?" someone else from the table says.

"I'm sorry, but I could not help but overhear the Russian lines and well grammatically they are absolutely absurd, they make barely any sense!" Doe eyes explains herself and I cannot help but breathe out understanding now that my acting was not the reason.

"Oh and you're a Russian," Rick says and gets up from the table, I wish I could tell him to lay off her cause he always tends to overdo the intimidation. My doe eyes doesn't waiver though,

"Yes, I am Russian, it is my first language and I just hope you know that your script will cause laughs not just from me if you put it through into production as is. Any Russian speaker will laugh," she says. Of course, she's unaware the script is unfinished, though now I see why they did not bother putting the translation in, apparently it would've been a sorry one.

"Oh so perhaps you would like to read this scene for me and point out how it should be done," Rick continues to press her, can't he leave her be, she clearly did not mean anything by it, whatever they wrote really must have sounded ridiculous if she couldn't help it.

"Sure, I will read it," she says as if it is nothing, I feel myself raise an eyebrow, realizing she is serious as she takes the script from Rick nonchalantly and reads it over, I watch her and inevitably have to force my lips not to form a smile at her. I think of what she is thinking as she is reading the scene, I recall it in my mind;

Scene

Night. Russian outskirts, German occupied area. Enter Hauptmann Rittmeister (captain) Friedrich von Falke and Tanya in nearby wooded area outside of SS headquarters.

Friedrich

I cannot stop thinking about you, you're the only reason I want to get up, to see the war end, to think there is something still left fighting for.

Friedrich comes closer to Tanya, Tanya standing with her back to nearby tree, looking up nervously at Friedrich.

Tanya

Ya nepoymy tebya, chto govorish?

Friedrich comes closer; his arm softly takes hold of her elbow.

Friedrich

Tell me you understand me, tell me you hear me and my heart beat for you.

Friedrich takes hold of Tanya passionately.

Tanya

Hochesh chto?

Friedrich

I'm so in love with you. You're my light, my everything, you're my doom.

Tanya

Chto eto, chto hochesh ti, pochemy, pochemy.

Friedrich goes for the kiss.

Everyone watches her, amused, as she takes in the script. She hands it back to Rick and takes a spot in front of the casting crew table, about two meters away from me. For a second I cannot help but feel nervous that this is really happening, I am about to do the scene. With her.
