Theo runs down the school stairs and catches up me to out of breath. "Today is the last day of school for two whole weeks!"
It all happened so fast, the virus coming into Annivile, school and shops closing, it was only supposed to be two weeks, but those two weeks eventually turned into eight years. Sure, the virus stopped for three years, or so we thought. About 3 years after the virus seemed to stop, people began to get weird. The dead wouldn't stay dead, the alive went crazy. Except for me and Eli. Somehow, someway it skipped us.
"Hello?" I say cautiously as I walk into a house that seems to be abandoned. I clench my knife and slowly make my way over to the kitchen. "It's clear in here Eli!"
