July 4th 2019,

"Arabella! Are you guys ready?!?" mom yells

"yes mom we are" Arabella states.

My parents and I were gathering things to our trip to Pennsylvania since that's where our second house is and we wanted to celebrate the 4th of July with our family cause why not

We had to get comfy anyways since it was about a 3 hour drive there from New York

"okay, the car is outside lets go" dad says walking through the door.

Me and Alexandrine walk to the car with our belongings and place them in the trunk as well as getting in the car

"This is gonna be hell of a car ride" I say.

"you know it" Alexandrine replies.

I was only ever close to alexandrine than my other 4 siblings because 3 of them don't live with us anymore and Dawna can only spend time with her stupid boyfriend so she isn't coming, she never does

My parents enter the car then start driving

I put in my Airpods and start playing 'Diet Mountain Dew ' by Lana Del Rey

It was my favorite song from her

I slowly start falling asleep on the car window until

"Arabella"

"Arabella!"

I shoot up

"huh? what?" I ask.

"Arabella we're here, its like 11 Pm there was a lot of traffic" mom says.

"oh okay" I say.

I take off my seatbelt and someone caught my eye

"hey cuzzo" someone says.

"*I gasp* CLEO HIII" I say pulling her into a hug

Cleo was my cousin, my greatest cousin i've know since i was 6, i met her at my aunts house who was her grandma, when we met it was COMPLETELY awkward but we got mc donald's and had fun so that's that, now back to reality

"i haven't seen you in so long! How are you?" i ask pulling away from her.

"i know, i've been good how are you?" Cleo shoots back.

"good" I say.

*10 minutes later*

Me and Cleo were just upstairs in my room catching up

"yea so basi-" I said but being cut off by the door bursting open.

"Guys! We have company" Alexandrine says.

me and Cleo look at each other then get up to see whos here

I go outside and see two boys walking to the door

"Hello, who are you?" I ask.

"Im Cohen and this is my little brother nick, my moms your friend i guess and she invited us" He says.

"oh okay im Arabella, this is my cousin Cleo and this is my older sister Alexandrine" I say taking my hand out for him to shake it.

Cohen shakes my hand

"Nice to meet you three" Cohen says.

"yea you too" Alexandrine says.

We all go upstairs and show them around then go hang out in my room

My mom walks in my room

"Arabella, Leonella came so be down in 5 minutes" my mom says.

You stop her

"wait mom and the others?" I ask.

"they arent coming.." she slowly says.

"of course they arent *sighs* okay we'll be down in 5" I say

My mom leaves

I sit on my dresser while everyone talks

I see that Cohen is starring for a bit then looks away

*5 minutes later*

me and the others leave the room

Cohen stops me

"Hey, if its ok i'd like to know you more" He says.

"Oh of course, i'd also like to know more about you too" I say.

I smile

"ill catch up with you in a bit" Cohen says.

"oh sure okay" i say and start walking outside

I greet my sister Leo, short for Leonella because no one can pronounce her name right besides me and my mom

"Hey little one" Leo says.

"yea yea hi" I say.

"what is it this time? Your sisters?" She asks

I nod my head slowly

"I know monkey they're always busy.. drinking" Leo says.

"I just don't understand, if they wanna drink why don't they drink here" I say.

"I don't know Arabella, but lets just get started on the fireworks okay?" She says.

"okay i guess" I say walking towards the front yard where my dad and everyone is.
