Marienette's P.O.V

I sat at my desk sketching new designs of various hats for my art class as I let my computer play the news in the background. It was around 10:30pm and rain endlessly tapped on the glass of the window by my desk. So much for a predicated sunny day, since it was practically flooding school was cancelled.

I sighed dropping my pen and leaning back into my desks chair. The news was so boring it was putting me to sleep but I had absolutely nothing else to watch. The sound of rain didn't help either. I groaned quietly. Today sucked.

"Local officials had just dubbed the mysterious Chat Blanc as well.. a villian. With his chaotic powers and super human like abilities he poses a threat to our society. His motives are unclear and police are still trying to figure out a way to contain him and bring him into custody. If you see this man, run away."

I glanced over at my computer after hearing that. A blurred picture of a man in a white cat suit appeared. Her voice spoke with an unusual tone of urgency but I just couldn't get it past me what the warning was about. "A super villian?" I mumbled laughing slightly. I wondered if this was some sort of joke, surely the news would never refer to a criminal as a super villian, and they even have him a name too. How strange. Maybe this was an april prank I didn't know about or something? I shook my head sighing as I got back to work. Project after project was my life at school; and for now I'd simply have to suck it up.

As I picked up my pen I heard a sudden shrill scream of pain sounding from outside my window. It was so loud and unmistakable I was stunned for a second before trying to prossess it. It sounded like it came from the ally by my house. But was it really real? Maybe it was thunder? No, I can't take chances like that! What if someone had gotten hurt?!

My mind went blank and my body was on autopilot as I scrambled out of my desk almost tripping over my own feet quickly running down the stairs to the hallways stairs and then out of the hallway through to the bakery shops door. I pushed the door aside and ran straight for the allyway wondering if someone had just been attacked. Protective instincts I didn't even know I had all kicked in by now.

Then I paused halfway in the street realizing, what would I even do? Im a 5ft tall teenage girl barefoot in the middle of the street by the bakery my father owned, I was unarmed, had no phone with me or first aid, I'm basically useless. I shook my head and continued running deciding I would deal with that thought later.

By the time I reached the nearby ally I was drenched in rain. My hair kept falling in my face as I continuously tried to push it aside and not get water in my eyes. "Hello? Is anyone there? Are you okay, I heard screaming, are you hurt?" I asked with urgency laces in my voice speedwalking twords the end of the ally. I'm sure the rain mostly covered up the sound of my voice, after all it was raining cats and dogs. The further I went, the darker it got. I couldn't see anyone or anything; then again it was hard to tell with the water in my eyes and the darkness of the night. With every step I took the street lamps light dimmed softly. Everything was quiet except for the pitter patter of rain and my bare footsteps along the cement.

Once I reached the end of the allyway I was filled with confusion. No one was here, but I was sure I had heard the screaming. Maybe I might have imagined it? Maybe I'm just too tired?

After a few moments of idiotically darting around listening for any sign of distress I sighed deciding It really was my imagination. I felt disappointment in myself; but at least no one was hurt. That's all that matters.

Being alone in this empty dark ally gave me a erie feeling. I guess I better not stay any longer or else I'd be the one to end up screaming.

As I turned around I nearly fell back. In the flash of an eye a white figure had fallen from the roof of the allyway I was in landing a few feet ahead of me. Taking a step back I didn't have much time to prossess what was happening. They were dressed in complete white, the moon reflecting off of them lightly making them shine in the rain. "H-hey are you okay? Were you the one who was screaming?" I asked softly as they starred right at me with their peircing cold blue eyes that almost seemed to glow even in the dark.

How were they not hurt from that fall?

The closer they got the more I noticed what they wore. White cat ears and a white leather skin tight suit with a tail? "Locals have dubbed the mysterious Chat Blanc as well..a villian." My eyes widened in realization. "Y-youre the villan on the news.." I muttered under my breath as my heartbeat sped up. In a dumb moment of panic I scrambled back tripping on my own feet and falling flat on my butt. "I thought that was a joke.." I mumbled to myself. He smiled at me with an unreadable expression as I backed up into the alleyway wall and he was finally approaching me.

I was cold and scared. Tons of thoughts were rushing through my head faster than I could comprehend. I felt sudden danger. Alarms were blaring in my head. Was that screaming from one of his victims?

But something was wrong.. his eyes were...

I stopped pushing myself to the wall and my expression effortlessly changed to one of concern. His eyes looked.. hurt. "Are you okay?" I mumbled to him more sincerely attempting to speak to him. He stopped suddenly in his tracks a couple of feet away from me. His eyes were miserable and lost, deep and forgotten, but a beautiful blue none the less. We stood in silence just starring at eachother for a few seconds. He looked so harmless and frail. His hair was soaked and the rain fell on him. Was this really a villan? He seemed so...

My body was telling me to step forward, and my mind screamed our that that was crazy. Just as I was about to I heard a cute little sound and chat blancs head bounced. He sneezed?

He glanced back up and we starred straight at eachother for a second in silence, rain falling on both of us never letting up.

With that sneeze my eyes widened in understanding. "You're cold.." I mumbled hesitantly stepping closer. Once I really paid attention, I could see the slightest shivering. I guess even 'supervillains' can get sick.

I swallowed the lump of fear in my throat and stepped closer. "Follow me." I said quitely as I tried to lead him home against my better judgement. As I walked past I held his hand trying to lead him. I stopped noticing he wouldn't budge. I glanced back seeing him glaring at me narrowed eyed baring his teeth like a ferrel street cat on guard. But somehow I knew he wouldn't hurt me. It was probably just silly intuition that made no sense. But even if he did hurt me, I wouldn't regret trying to help.

"Trust me." I said smiling back at him and looking forward. With an anxious breath I stepped forward and suprisingly he followed with me leading the way.

It was weird, the more time I spent with him holding his hand the more my fear left me. He made me feel whole in a way..

Walking out of the allyway and into the streets approaching the bakery and my house I realized something. my parents were home..

I bit my lip in anticipation and stopping once again. "My.. my parents are home. They're sleeping, so they won't get mad but you have to be quiet, okay." I warned looking back at him smiling softly. He nodded his head slightly and his expression was still so unreadable. I wonder what he was thinking right now..
