"Recruits?"
Heatwave was not used to poking his head into the common area and not finding at least one of the five students of the academy there. He'd already checked Hoist's workshop, the gymnasium, outside, even the groundbridge room. Nothing. The halls were oddly quiet... Where were they? Surely not where they should be... Right?
The firetruck started towards the classroom, and though he still heard no voices, he heard the creaking of the desks, and he slowed before hesitantly poking his helm around the corner and peered inside.
His optics were met with an astonishing sight; all five of the recruits, seated at their desks and attentive. His eyebrows furrowed as he counted them carefully, making sure that he was truly seeing this rare occurance. He started to get suspicious, however, as all of them were grinning and squirming in their seats.
"...Alright," He placed his hands on his hips, and stepped fully into the doorway. "What did you five do?"
"Nothing!" Hotshot whined, "Why would you think we did anything?"
"Why else would all five of you be at your desks- on time I might add- and looking at me like that?" He pointed to Hotshot, "Since when does getting to class suddenly outweigh finishing watching a cube game on the holoscreen?"
Whirl was the one to answer, "Since Blades told us there are other bots we haven't met yet!"
The other recruits all nodded in agreement.
Heatwave was starting to pick up on their implications, but decided to push it further. "Cybertron is a big planet, Whirl. Of course there are bots you've never met."
"You know what we mean!" Hotshot stood up and leaned over the front of his desk, "When do we get to meet the rest of the little bots you and the other professors have been hiding!?"
"Yeah!" Whirl exclaimed, "We've already met Snowblast- Well, sort of- and Professor Blades implied that there are others that we'd meet later, so when is later!?"
Heatwave finally smiled, motioning for them all to sit once more. "Alright alright... I know you five are all interested in meeting the other sparklings, but it's not going to be today. Especially since Professor Boulder's not going to be able to teach today."
"Why not?" Hoist asked.
"He has a mission on Cybertron that he has to tend to." The teacher stepped up to the front of the classroom, "I'll talk to the other teachers later and see what they think, but for now, we need to get on with class..."

"I see..." Blades rubbed his chin, looking down at the floor. "I suppose it was only a matter of time..."
Heatwave smirked, "Yeah, and I guess we do owe them a bit of indulgement for all the hard work they're doing...What do you think, Boulder?"
Boulder shrugged, "I see no harm in it, though I'm going to have to decline helping with that one." Boulder informed, "My trip to Cybertron may take a little while due to the... Sensitivity of the situation."
Blades grinned, "You excited, Boulder?"
"Beyond that, Blades." Boulder's optics were glistening as he smiled back, but then his smile faded a bit. "...I just hope I can do a good enough job."
"Boulder," Heatwave placed a hand on either one of his teammate's shoulders, "You're going to be fine. No, scratch that. You...Are going to be an amazing parent."
