The team returned to the Firehouse, with Chase carrying Jack, and Blades and Boulder carrying Heatwave between them.

"On the tables." Blades ordered, going into full medic mode once more. He didn't have time to talk, he needed to work.

Chase laid his son down and Boulder helped lay Heatwave on the second table. Blades didn't speak except to give orders, and Snowblast took over being his assistant as soon as he stepped into the room and saw the scene. No questions were asked by those that stayed behind, it wasn't a good time.

Blades mumbled under his breath as he examined the pair, and then turned his attention to Jack. "Heatwave's regained stability. Jack's EM field is fluctuating way too much. He's going into shock, I need that energon line! I'm barely getting any cognitive readings-"

"He'll be okay, right?" Jolt asked, holding Chase's hand tightly. "Right, Uncle Blades?"

"I don't know yet, Jolt. I'm going to do everything I can to get your brother back, I swear it on my spark." Blades informed, not even pausing in his work.

A few minutes passed, and some of the Burnses left the scene. So many bodies were in the medical bay as it was, and it wasn't a large space.

While Cody, Chief, Dani and Graham left the scene, Kade stayed by the door until Heatwave came to again. The time was almost midnight when he began to stir.

"Heatwave?" Kade asked as his partner shifted positions on the table.

There was a long pause, and then a very pained "Ow...!" from the firetruck. He lifted a hand to his faceplate, "That hurt...!"

"How're you feeling?" Blades asked, not even looking at his leader, instead keeping an eye on the monitors attached to Jack and adding something to the energon drip.

"Terrible... The kid."

Heatwave grunted as he sat up, looking at Jack with one optic squinted shut. "H-How's the kid?"

"Stable...For now. Your processor is showing the same effects as a minor concussion. Your helm will be hurting for a day or two, but you'll be fine."

Jack however, was showing signs of what the humans would refer to as a stroke. There was significant damage to his processor, the kind that suggested that Vigil had not only tried to trap his mind and keep Jack from getting control back, but he'd tried to wipe out Jack's mind entirely. Blades had admitted that Jack's motor functions and speech may be affected...or even his memory, he might not even remember his own family; Chase and Jolt may have to start over from day one with him.

It was all quite infuriating to the police officer, but the Chase family's revenge had been served by Jolt, who had used Cassie's energy disruption and her own electrical powers to not only disable Vigil, but rip his programming apart completely. If anything was left of him floating around, it was not anything more than stray strands of code. The femme now sat next to her father, silently flexing her fingers and letting sparks and trails of electricity dance across them. She felt powerful that day, she felt like a true hero.

Blades did what he could for the night, and ensured that Jack was stable before retreating to his quarters to rest for a few hours, Snowblast following him. He promised to check in on the trio then, and make sure Chase didn't need anything.

This was how Chief found them when he came back down to the bunker in the wee hours of the morning: Blades and Snowblast were both zonked out with their door partially open in case Jack suddenly took a nosedive and Chase called for them. Downpour was asleep on the couch with a tarp draped around her shoulders, having insisted she was too nervous to sleep and was going to watch TV. Heatwave was asleep in his quarters with the door closed. Boulder was sitting quietly in his quarters, overlooking some sort of paperwork he'd said was required of him, and too engrossed to even notice Chief wandering the halls to check on the largest members of the family.
