H-hey everyone. I just wanted to share with you guys, a memory poem that I wrote for my dad. It's filled with both happy and upsetting memories, but memories nonetheless. If you don't want to read it, I have no problem with it.
When I was 6 years old
You passed away
I was at the Church of God in Bethalto, IL
And the thought of you dead could always annoy
I remember you at the carnival
And you were happy as hell
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysAt your funeral, you were in the casket
There were flowers in a basket
Erica and I were 6 and Taylor was 3
They reacted no better than me
Neither did Mommy or Aunt Kellie
We all loved you and still do
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysThe funeral was on October 24, 2011
We had cake that day after the service
Because it was your birthday
After cake we let balloons go with pictures tied to them
And we met our godmother
You cared about us like you cared about her
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysWe were wearing dresses with bees on them
The 3 of us matched
We were your little girls
You loved Taylor like your own
I know it's been 9 years since that day
When you passed away
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysYou were my hero, idol, friend, role model
But most importantly you were my father
I lost you at a young age
And I don't have many memories of you
But for the ones I do
I cherish forever and ever
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysYou were a funny and loving man
More funny than a meatloaf pan
You loved Mommy more than a murderer
And would cuddle her forever and ever
You were a superhero to me
Who is a super zero
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysYou were 36 years old on that day
When you passed away on Aunt Heather's birthday
I love you more than I love myself
But I assure you that I'm getting help
I know I should let it go
But I can't seem to do so
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysI know you may be dead to the world
But you are never dead to me
I know you are with God
But I want you here with me
I know it's impossible
But all I can do is believe
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysYou'll forever be with me in my memories
But also in my heart
From now until the end of time
I'll keep the memories I have
I'll always love you
Until the end of time
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysYou'll always love me
And I'll always love you
From now until the end of time
We'll always share an unbreakable bond
Forever you'll always be
My loving daddy
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysWhenever I feel like crap
I can only think of your laugh
Even though you may be gone
We'll always share an unbreakable bond
Forever there will always be
The bond between you and me
You'll be in my heart
AlwaysI know that you guys might not care about this but I do. Me and my dad were close and when he passed away, I didn't think I could go on anymore. So please. Just listen to what I have to say and decide whether or not you want to listen. Thank you.
