THE SEARCH BEGINS
As agreed, I met with Samantha, Gillian, Graham and Tony, the following day, at Graham's recording studio. I told them about the meeting.
'You're not going to go looking for her, are you? Seriously?' Tony asked.
'Not unless you all agree that I do,' I replied.
'Well the evidence certainly seems to convict Christopher Duncan,' said Tony.
'So what difference does it make if Graham goes in search of Susan?' Samantha countered.
'I just think it's a bad idea,' shrugged Tony.
'Surely it's up to you, Graham. After all, it was your sister that he murdered,' said Gillian.
'I don't particularly want to see the guy again,' said Graham. 'But, then again, neither do I want an innocent man sent to prison.'
'Look. I may not even be able to find her,' I said. 'Any information about her is scarce. It's practically as though she never existed.'

'So you've started looking already, then?' Samantha asked.
'Just a quick look,' I replied.
'Well, I don't think we should be giving that piece of shit any help,' Tony said. 'He killed your sister, Graham. He's just trying to mess with your head... no, all of our heads.'
Graham strummed a few chords on the acoustic guitar he was holding. 'You're probably right, Tony,' he said finally. 'But what harm would it do for Graham here to go looking for Chris's sister? Even if he finds her, she may just confirm that Chris was the murderer.'
Tony thought about this for a few moments by playing an intricate drum solo. 'I never thought of that,' he said. 'You could be right. Go and search for her, Graham A. But just don't try too hard.'
'Looks like you've been given your blessing to go and look for Susan Duncan,' said Samantha.
'Great,' said Gillian. 'Now can we please get back to business? Or we won't have agreed anything before the tour actually starts.'
'I thought we were just agreeing the set list today,' Graham said.
'Yes, we were,' Gillian replied. 'And so far we've got...' She picked up a pad that had been in her lap. '"Revolution of Fun" and...' She turned the pad over and flicked through a couple of pages. 'Oh, no, wait. That appears to be it.'

'Actually, thinking about it,' said Tony, 'as this is a new start for us, perhaps we shouldn't begin with "Revolution of Fun".'
Gillian threw the pad at him and we all laughed.
'You have to start with that song,' I said. 'It's your anthem.'
'Thank you, Graham,' said Gillian as Tony threw the pad back to her and she caught it. 'At least someone is taking this seriously.'
'I think we should do three or four old ones in a row,' Samantha suggested.
'Agreed,' Graham said.
'Brilliant,' said Gillian. 'Which three or four?'
'Why don't we just name one each?' Tony said.
'Great idea,' Gillian agreed. 'I'll go first. My choice is "End of the Line".'
'Bugger, that was my idea,' said Tony.
