"Can I squeak in a welcome back kiss?"
I barely heard his lovey-dovey words due to his soft voice. I stared at the cute, glasses-wearing, curly-blond-hair boy as his face turned red with embarrassment. He turned away, probably mumbling a "maybe not" but before he could take a step away, I gently grabbed his arm and tugged him into a embrace. He stared up at me with his face burning red and I gently locked our lips together. Oh, how I love my cute Birdie.
We stood there for a while, still in a hug, when I finally heard his quiet voice saying, "P-P-Can't B-B-Breathe!"
Opps! I let go of my tight hug and he wobbles backwards. I prepare myself just in case he begun to fall, but he recovers in a blink of a eye and smiles shyly at me. I grin back at him and we just awkwardly stand there for a few silent moments. "Oh, I made a new batch of pancakes and maple syrup. Would you like..."
"Where are they?" I advance quickly to the kitchen but felt a tug on my sleeve. I turn around to face my Birdie. "Um... I'll bring it to you so please wait in the living room... It'll, uh, be more comfortable... Maybe... Eh?"
"Sure, I'll wait." I smiled at him and turned towards the living room. I found a relaxing position lying down on the couch and silently waited. My thoughts suddenly made me aware of something and I sat up quickly. Birdie silently walked in and held a plate with about nine pancakes stacked high up drowned in maple syrup. I watched silently as he set the plate down on the coffee table in front of me and didn't move even after he backed up a few steps. I examined his squirming around as he glanced at me.
"I-I-Is there something on me?" He questioned softly.
"If something's bothering you, you can always talk about it." I said very seriously. "I'll lend an ear whenever you need it, ya' know."
"E-Eh?!" He obviously didn't expect me to see through him. He didn't know how often I could tell what he was thinking... Probably because he's used to being not noticed. "N-N-Nothing i-is wrong!"
I eyed him for a second longer than gave up. "Ah, well, chow time!" I grabbed the plate and fork. I begun stuffing my mouth full of the soft, fluffy, gooey meal. A smile appeared on my face and Birdie smiled faintly. I knew something was bothering him but what?
"Who?"
I watched as Birdie looked like he was about ready to jump out of his skin. Kumaji, or whatever his name is since Birdie keeps calling him different names, stood behind Birdie. His white fur seem a bit dull today though, something I hadn't seen before since Birdie took good care of him. Birdie and I watched as Kumaji said "who?" again then walked out of the room. Silence seemed to be the main noise today and that wasn't good! I was suppose to be awesome Prussia so why was I acting... not cool today?
I eyed Birdie as he quietly mutter, "I'm Canada..." in a late response and it looked like he was about to break into tears any minute now.
"Don't you worry your pretty little head." I tried to comfort him but he begun to cry. I flinched. "You... You can't... cry! I shut down when you do that! Idiot!"
Birdie wiped his tears and his mouth begun to move...
"Yo, Canada! You got some pancakes for my diet or what?" America, loud as ever, waltz in not even blinking an eye.
"A~me~ri~ca~! Get out of here, you fool! Begone, you are interrupting my emotional reunion with my love!!" I shouted angrily, my temper boiling.
"Hm?" America paused and took a deep long look at Canada who was trying to wipe away all his tears. His face suddenly disorted into furiousness and he begun to... glare at me? Why? "What the hell did you do?"
"I didn't do anything!" I defended myself realizing he thought I did.
He pulled Canada behind him as he said, "Please step aside. Ill dispose of the stray bird that's harassing you. I'll protect you, my dear. Now move-- if you please. I shall be your hero!"
"Don't just assume stuff, you big idiot!" I bared my teeth at the annoyance.
"Stop spreading your fleas! You shall forever unhand my true love and get down on your knees to bow down due to our beautiful relationship!" America shouted.
"True love? Beautiful relationship? Aren't you guys BROTHERS?" I stated a fact while practically screaming the last word.
America's face disorted into rage and he barked, "Then let us settle this country-style with a war!"
"Shall we, now?" I taunted.
"N-No! Stop it, you guys!" Birdie shouted leaving us both in a state of shock. "Do not fight over a misunderstanding!"
"But you seemed unhappy with his physical affection, my plum. Otherwise, why else are you crying?" America responded gently.
Before Birdie could respond, I pulled him back behind me. "Birdie, I love you for your care, but please ease your trouble mind. I promise not to die and leave my precious love behind. Now, America, since we're here and there's a considerable amount of snow outside, shall we begin the second Cold War?"
"Bring it on, country-who-lives-in-another-country's- basement! I'll be the hero as always!"
"Eep! G-Gilbear, you are drawing blood from me with that look! Please, stop!" Birdie, please understand, my pride is at stake.
