Shizuka feels paranoid about the things that might happen around him. When he's paranoid, he gets sweaty and awkward around people, rambling and ranting like a crazy person. However, Shizuka always prepares himself for any possible scenario at the last minute. It seems like he has some sort of foresight, but it's just Shizuka being Shizuka.

Shizuka had a normal childhood, but it wasn't the best one. His father was usually too busy to spend time with his son, and his mother was mentally abusive. His mother made him afraid to make decisions, due to how bad the result will be later in his lifetime. Due to the extreme paranoia that he had been through, he had made the decision to poison his mother for what he had been through. Upon his dying mother's final breaths she told Shizuka that ever action he takes will most likely result in something bad happening somewhere else. Scarred by these words Shizuka is afraid of making long term decisions. Even with some help of his personal fatherly therapist, he didn't seem to latch onto the idea that what his mother said to him was wrong. School was even harder for Shizuka, because he was usually teased for acting crazy in front of his classmates, telling them that something bad was going to happen at some point.

Shizuka comes prepared with everything that he might need for a troubling situation. He usually carrys small rocks and/or needles in his pocket.

The text on his arms makes huge marks that only go away when a full day has passed. Because of the marks on his arms, he has to wear long sleeved shirts or jackets to cover them up.
